I hate to disapprove of an update just made, but depending on how many people think alike, I believe ores would look more appealling as chunks instead of strips. A little more blocky, a little less stripey. I like the engraved look, but maybe manipulate the shading on a couple of chunks to make them look external as well for a little variety.
I don't know about anyone else but I'm sticking with your stone half blocks until the day either myself or Minecraft rests in peace. It's a minor setback to not be able to include them in smooth stone constructs but when used on isolated projects, they're God damned gorgeous. Observe.
Those are some sexy slabs. They look fantastic next to lapis too. The subtle brown grainy bits make all the difference yet they're barely noticeable without paying very close attention. I actually like your current glowstone as well. Looks best as lamp posts and hanging lights, things like that. I definitely like that you kept the yellow/white original color scheme and framed it. I can't wait to see what you do next.
I'm not sure if it's possible but you should edit in a dark indentation on lever bases if you can. Make it look like the lever is actually coming out of the block and not warping through it. Um... **** I dunno anymore. Maybe mix a few different themed paintings into the art folder. I'll probably find some from other TPs and mix them in. I love the paintings but they are all nature themed.
One thing I am looking for is a richer wood. Planks a little rougher and the slightest bit darker, maybe with a subtle border and nails. Then again nails don't look too hot on 16x no matter what you do. A bit more contrast, a deeper hue, the slightest bit more saturation or a mixture for standard bark. Also chop the birch a little so the stripes aren't so fine. Ah yes and with planks, again, it might not be optimal for a 16x so this is only a speculation, but try thicker planks. Like three planks per block instead of four, as an alternative.
These are only my opionions and at this point I consider them back burner priority as I'm entirely satisfied with what you've got. In your OP you might want to include templates for all your alternative textures. Alternative wood might be good for anyone who wants a change like with your many versions of cobblestone. Keep up the good work. You've obviously spent alot of initiative on this. How's it feel to have created what's becoming one of the most renouned realistic 16x texture packs for Minecraft?

Wow!
That's a LOT of helpful information! I will update the OP in a minute with the next update. It has darker wood with a few spots on it that looks a lot better in my opinion. The lightstone also looks a lot better in my opinion, more of a lantern instead of a fancy.... block? :tongue.gif:
All the old textures have been taken off the current terrain but they have been given their own png file called 'alternates'. I plan to just keep on creating alternates for my pack and plopping them in there each update. If I can get a customizer website thing set up then at least I will have plenty of options available straight away!
I like the idea of getting a few more varied paintings though because after all, variety is the spice of life!
And to be honest I really don't know how it feels, apart from good I suppose O.o
I certainly didn't expect my pack to be THIS popular (although it does make all the effort I put into it worthwhile!)
Here's some pics for the next update!
Sorta hard to see, but here's my speckly wood and new window on the door (to fit with current windows)
My new furnace interface.
Dispenser.
Still gonna tweak these a tiny bit but they're basically final :smile.gif:
New lightstone!
This is a more industrial look. Think I'm gonna make a more fancy one as well!
I think the next things I will do are gonna be some more tweaks and alt textures (more woods and lightstone!) and do the pine wood texture. It looks great on tree's but on buildings... not so good...
I will also finally get around to doing soulsand when I get some inspiration... guess i'm gonna go look at pics of mud on the internet then >.>
Thanks a LOT for your feedback though, I hope some of the latest textures I make will take your fancy!
EDIT: Just forgot to mention about the ores: The only ones that will be thin and embedded are the gold and redstone ones. The diamond is the old gold texture so it's a little less speckly, but chunky at the same time. Coal and iron I think look better in chunks as well so they shall be like that. I like the idea of fiddling with the shading to make them stick out AND embed into the stone. Think I shall have to experiment with this!
I'm also now trying to make grass a little more textured but still keeping the same sort of feel. It's really hard... Nevertheless, I shall keep on trying and post pics of my progress!
Ok, just posting some more random pics and some work I've been doing on the shrooms and saplings. Saplings look a little to solid and sturdy at the moment so I might tweak that slightly. Tell me what you think!
Dunno why this one's here but hey, lookit mah wolves! (they have a comfy kennel!)
Bonus pic! Awesome sunset in minecraft over my world's ocean!
EDIT: Working like a machine here! Finished the new pine texture and improved birch! (birch looks absolutely amazing!)
Also finished everything in the items folder. That means arrows have been redone so that they are a bit slimmer, boats have been textured, minecarts have been textured and signs were done in a previous update!
Might release 1.2 tomorrow if I finish soulsand!
OMG RELEASE!!!!!!
Your driving me crazy every screenshot is so amazing my eyes are bleeding with glee! I can not wait for the next update! I thought your pack was perfect I thought it was impossible to improve it and now this! These improvements are like a miracle. (I'm atheist to) Please release as soon as you can. Also some advice for the next update, make the sand have a wavy pattern but make it look nice and natural don't make it look like some one drug a stick though the sand and made it wavy make it look like the wind did it! Ok thank you for every thing you've done I love you!

Hehehe, update will be tomorrow :smile.gif:
Just need to do soulsand and try out that normal sand idea!
Love your support though! 2 banners for the win!
XSSheep, this is coming along beautifully. I have to agree with what some others have said about your glass, easily the best 16x16 glass block around. works well as windows and as a structural device. Your door is pretty spiffing too, and the overall color of your textures just feels very naturalistic as apposed to the neon colors of vanilla Minecraft.

Fantastic work, mate!
omg do you have any idea how much he loves you and your pack! You posting here might just very well give him a heart attack and we need him to work on the pack!
I love the carpet in boats and carts, especially how you made it look as if there's rows of bolts or buttons holding it in place. Astounding.
I actually really like this lightstone as well. Gonna have to test before I know which one I like using better. It's true, that's probably going to look alot better as industrial structure.
I like the rougher look of the planks. Always have. The minimum pixel variations makes a huge difference sometimes. Looking forward to alternative wood design. I'm having a color dilemma with wood lately.
Grass is certainly not easy to define. I don't usually talk about other peoples' packs in these threads, but I have to mention a new unnamed WIP called OhNo Noname Pack or something of the sort. His grass is almost looking perfect imo. If you redo the colors though, any prominant pattern is going to stand out and you'll probably have to tweak the design as well.
Now, I actually liked your latest brown mushrooms. Not sure why Payne though it looked weird but I'll stick with them. They looked almost 3D like you could see into the underside bowl of the shroom. Very cool.
Your newest saplings do look too sturdy and full, like you said. Think minimalistic. They should look more like stems of branches with a couple buds on them instead of miniature full grown trees.
I noticed you removed the usage chart (coal = 8, lava = 100, etc.) in your furnace GUI. Not that those numbers aren't common knowledge to most people, but I actually thought it was neat how you included it.
One final recommendation, just because I've seen a growing number of people forwarding this idea, is alternative fence design. People have been asking for crafting abilities of stone, iron, gold fences etc. as well as new half slabs and stairs and such. It might be worth creating alternative fence textures. Not sure how much more attention that would draw but you never know.

I don't like the iron, gold and diamond blocks. They should all look like the alternate iron you have! thank you!
Gonna have to disagree with this one. I personally like the stand-out square design, but this has been said before. That's an alternative you should also include. Some people like it, some don't.

Since I took the picture I have changed the mushrooms very slightly making them more 3d. They do look pretty awesome now! I have also changed the iron and diamond blocks very slightly as well so they should look a bit better in structures as well as keeping the same feel as the old ones!
Ok, for the saplings, I do like the idea of miniature trees, I just don't like how mine have turned out so far :tongue.gif: A great example of what I'm aiming for is in Doku's most recent pack (Dokucraft, should be on the front page and you should really check it out!). His saplings are amazing!
For the furnace screens: this and the dispenser were actually from the painterly pack (as was all the gui at one point) because I started building this pack up from a custom painterly! That's mostly the reason I changed the gui screens, I need to make them MINE so they aren't copied from someone else's pack! I will keep working on these though, giving them a bit more personality and I can include an alternate with the chart on it!
For all the compliments, thank you! I tried to make the boats carpet look like it was held down by little buttons or something and I can tell it worked! Very proud of it :smile.gif:
I will check out the pack that you mentioned as well, see if I can get some idea's!
Oh, fences rely on the wood texture as far as I am aware. This means I can't actually change fences unless the wood is different so alternate fences is the same as alternate woods, which are coming soon so your wish has been granted! :biggrin.gif:

Thank you Glim! Having someone of your texture making caliber saying how nice my pack is, DEFINITELY puts a smile on my face!
But yea, I really did try to tone down the colour's a bit because although vanilla is nice, the colours are WAY off :tongue.gif:

Don't worry, no heart attacks will happen. I have the heart of a stallion! :tongue.gif:
For your concerns about the iron and etc. blocks, look up there! ^^^
EDIT: Just realized I should mention that I have made some hyper real logs for normal trees and pine in the alternates folder for those who don't like the classic, pixelated variety I have at the moment. They were actually going to be from my other pack, but I have decided to discontinue it and add all of its textures to the alternate file! All the textures I worked on for it were still 16x but they were a lot more inspired from real life and had a more realistic feel about them. Expect some screenshots soon enough!
Here's some logs! Colours are a bit whack when compared to the rest of the pack's colours and don't really match, but I can fix that (these logs were from my other pack except the birch) Now working on soulsand for 1.2 release and some wooden plank alternates!
This texture pack is ASTOUNDING! I found this texture pack while looking for a new one, as I have overused my others. All of the texture packs I found were too simple or just too detailed (my computer probably wouldn't be able to run them well). I was expecting this texture pack to be 32 x 32 or 64 x 64. When I saw it was 16 x 16, I was flabbergasted. Finally, an amazing texture pack that I can run! But, I was deeply saddened when I loaded my world that my trees weren't coloured. Yes, I have run Xau's Patcher, but they still will not have colour. I'm not sure if I used the patcher correctly, or if it is even needed, but It would be very appreciated if you could help.

You might not have colour because the are you're in might be a specific biome. The area i'm in on my current world has no colour as well but if I try one of my older worlds, they have lots of colourful trees. Best way to check is probably just to run round your world for a bit and see if you can find some colourful trees!
UPDATE!
That's right everyone, it's that long awaited moment. Update time!
1.2 is quite a big update with so many things added i'm not going to write them in this post. Please check the OP to see the full list of changes under the UPDATE section!
Here are a few screenies of it in action which have been posted throughout the thread!
I also uploaded my latest and most current world which can be found at the very bottom of the OP. It is the world I used in all these screenshots and I think it is quite cool! Check it out if you want!
What I am working on next:
Ok, for the next update I plan to be making another one or two sandstone textures, a wavy sand texture, most of the items (if not finish them completely), more general tweaks, more textured grass, better biomes (again :tongue.gif:), more wood alternate textures and maybe some armours and mobs!
:biggrin.gif: Thank you!
I'm already working on more stuff for 1.3! Probably won't release it until after the 1.5 update for minecraft though, just to see what new stuff was added.

EDIT: Well I uploaded the pics again and linked the newer ones. Hopefully that should have solved it!

Curse Premium:biggrin.gif: Thank you!
I'm already working on more stuff for 1.3! Probably won't release it until after the 1.5 update for minecraft though, just to see what new stuff was added.
On like what to do, I know nothing on texturepacks or mods, and I just wanted some help.
