Well, this is my first pack I've actually finished. It is Warhammer 40k done in the style of Minecraft, rather than a complete changing of Minecraft into Warhammer 40k. Thus I have kept it as 16x and have not changed something if I felt that it didn't make sense, eg crafting a bolter from sticks and string.
The pack is pretty much finished, but if anyone has suggestions or addons for bits that I haven't done or done well then you're welcome to post some and I'll include them in the OP.
Stuff to do: Gold Armor will be Commisar costume or something like it.
Dispensers and furnaces need to be changed, as do the bed, cake, pumpkin and ?cactus?. Music box is terrible.
Thanks to Glimmar and Jehkoba as I took a fair bit of "inspiration" from them.
Pics!
Ores and bedrock. I'm very proud of my bedrock. And my wood. Please ignore the monstrosity of a record player(it's ok now).
The Nether Warp!
You can tell it's the GRIMDARK future because of the skulls. Quite a feat in 16x. Iron blocks are skulls. Gold is gold bricks and Diamond is the symbol of the Inquisition.
I'm very proud of my Imperial Guard (leather).
Scout (Iron)
Space Marine (Diamond)
I know some of you may be disappointed that I made space marine armor so innaccessable but they are the best of the best. No mere iron armor would be good enough for them. Gold armor has not been made yet but will most likely be a commisar's uniform or maybe some imperial nobility. You only wear it to look good anyway.
MOBS!
Zombies are now Insidious Cultists.
Skellies are now Necrons, which is a departure from my Imperial VS Chaos theme but they fit so perfectly. If you have an issue with this just suggest a replacement and I'll do it.
Spiders, which I hate to reskin are a Pink Horror or somesuch. They turn blue in the dark, which I still have mixed feelings about but I'm too used to them to change it. Suggest something and I'll give it a go.
Squids are Tzeenchian demons.
Creepers are spore mines (again, not Chaos, but they're pretty gribbly.)
This thing is a wolf. Dogs are normal, for now. I'll probably make a couple of dog/wolf variations.
Zombie Pigmen will be Bloodletters, Ghasts are pretty sweet as is, Slimes? Who knows.
While I am very happy with the pack as is it still needs improvements. Record player needs to be better, cactus is pretty boring,
You're welcome to use textures from my pack (especially the bedrock) just put a link to this thread in yours.
The last two I wish worked. If only sandstone wasn't found in layers greater than one. My glowstone went from being too sharp to too soft. I need to find a blance in the middle. The cactus is just bad.
I also figured out how the spider skin works. Notch left a lot of junk in it that's misleading. But now I know I've fully shaded the spider and made a blue one for night. I'm mainly trying to find new and unthoughtof ways to use the blocks. Thus my sandstone, funny use of the spider-eyes.png and such. Some of the time, ok, a lot of the time it just looks terriable and doesn't fit, but maybe it'll work with something else.
Thanks. And thanks also for the pic, but doubly so for the name, now I can get it myself.
If I do have a problem with the smooth/cobblestone, it's that the cobblestone doesn't quite fit the aesthetics of Minecraft. But I really want a metallic, industrial look for the buildings.
I'm also gonna turn the gold and diamond blocks into something else, and leave icons and the like to the paintings.

Thanks for the cobblestone Swas, I haven't check it out yet sorry. It isn't what I'm looking for but I may use it for brick, my current one I don't like for sme reason.
More developments, successful this time. However I won't be updating the proper texture pack until I've done the bed.
Non-tiles halfbricks!
My work so far on the paintings, if anything has tempted me to do a higher resolution it's these. But I want to do the small ones first so they look good.
Redstone that fits the non-colour-customisable redstone.
I prefer the one on the left. But now that I look at it the one on the right isn't so bad, still not as good the left.
I'll probably make a imperial version of the redstone sometime.
Thanks. Yeah, I know I can, but I'm trying real hard not to. I may make some hi-res item.pngs with some guns. I should have a updated pack up around wedensday, and cos I'm from New Zealand I think that means tuesday for most of you guys.
EShredder - Thanks, but I downloaded the Last Days pack just to have a look at a custom spider texture and got it from there.
I'm thinking of making creepers spore mines, which again, isn't chaos. But they still fit the gribbly appearance of the rest.
Badump! The one time I say I'll do something by a certain date and I fail bad. I still haven't changed the bed, though I have modified it to fit the general colours. Wolves are now xeno creatures, dogs are now wolves (normal dogs look sad all the time, and with me acidentally killing them I feel really bad). A few very minor tweaks to the cobblestone, it's approaching something acceptable. I've included a few extras, my terrain_test.png and a high res item files and arrows to match. These can be used if you know what your doing, I don't. Well, ok, I just don't want to use the patcher for the items.
(The following stuff is in the extras)
Natural 4 high "reeds"! Yes!
Here's a "reed" farm.
This is not in the pack.
Well ok, a bolt pistol is in the extras, but it's twice as big (and so it's 4x better) and I can't get it to work, if you do get it to work post a pic here.
Here's the finished thing I was working on. It just makes the items look appropriate. Still needs work... there's little graphical issues in it that kinda urk me, but is 99% effective for the task. Just cut out the part you want.
Suggestion... if I may: Gold Armor -- Emperor of Man armor.
Please make the pumpkin into like... a Captain's helmet or something. That way I can justify wearing it and use that sweet overlay. Besides, it is more honorable to take the sacrifice in armor as a Veteran. I've JUST started doing this as I was inspired by your texture pack. Literally... today. I'm not saying you have to incorporate the pumpkin in, but if you have any clever suggestions as I'm worried that I'd be stuck with just a literal block. Which may better lend itself as goggles for the scout to wear. I dunno. I wish it was easier to add items without coding.
For you sir...
Alas, I am using someone's Space Marine skin texture as the armor.
It causes minor hiccups, but not really enough to bother us. Mostly the chest plate and either/or of the shoulder pauldron thingies clipping through one another.
And we made good use of the crate texture. Put our little "clan" letters on there.
Overall, I think this will really make it better for us as our structures are all future-cathedral (WH40K Imperial) themed.
Nice. Thanks for the Emperor idea, I can't believe I hadn't thought of it. I'll have a go at it but there's a lot of detail and a lot of gold and it might blur into itself. But I'll definitly have a go at it. Actually, it's gonna look pretty sweet now that I think about it.
The shoulder armour clipping thing annoys me too. It lines up when you walk, but when you hit something the armour stays put. It's stupid.
That space marine armour you're using is kind of what I wanted to do with the one I made, the armor should cover the arms, but then you lose the nice shoulder pads, but if you have just the shoulder pads then you have exposed arms. It'd be great if armour could have multiple layers. I've been thinking about modifying the char.png so that if you play offline your arms have the right skin. But each armor needs a different char skin.
I've kind of run out of major things to do, just odds and ends left. If anyone would like some mod related stuff done I might take a shot at it.
So I was like, "There's no way he'll be able to make Warhammer 40k and not have it totally suck," but then I read your post and this is actually really, really good.
Excellent job.
If I had one criticism it would be that you should remove the arrow.png entirely for the bolter, I can't really imagine those sorts of rounds simply sticking to a wall.
Yeah, it does look a bit ridiculous, which is why it's only included as an extra. Problem is that you need to be able to find your missed arrows or see how you need to arc them. But I'll give it a shot and if it doesn't detract to badly then I'll post it up.

Looks amazing!
P.S. You should probably edit the smoothstone to make it look more like the cobble.
Also, heres a screeny using copperdomebodhas tex map:

Have no fear, your cobble is here! Enjoy!
