This is my new texture pack that I finished last night. it's more of a "filter" style thing than an actual texture pack.
MonoCraft makes Minecraft monochrome (black & white). A few textures are still in color, such as the red of flowers, powered redstone wire/torches/repeaters, the light from Jack-o-lanterns, and the fire on a furnace, among others.
I will be taking suggestions on what textures/details should be in full color and which ones that already are shouldn't. Just post your reply of what you think about it and how it can be improved.
Personally, I'm a fan of monochrome stuff and this is nice. May get tough when spelunking though, seeing gray amidst black and white is really straining on the eyes IMO.
I personally have a neat suggestion: When torches are placed, the area with light will have color. This would require modding instead of a texture pack though, so it's quite off topic.
I agree totally with you changing ingots/ores into color, may help spelunkers identify ores during mining. I'm also hoping you would work on a sepia version? I also think a sepia filter would look nice...
Another suggestion would be to explore a clean texture style, I think it would fit well with the monochrome feel. For some inspiration, view this: viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=116372

Before using freedom of speech as an excuse to spill your problems, remember something of equal importance: The sense of common decency.
Make it like sin city where red, yellow, and blue are the only colors.

I was going to say the same thing! it'd be so cool.
You should eyeball my black and white pack, originally I had something like yours in mind but it just became an entire reskin. This certainly interesting though.

I did briefly consider sepia instead, but I decided on black & white. Perhaps I'll revisit that.
