Hello!
A while back I was inspired by HagenBraun's Babylon-themed pack (click) and decided to start my own pack!, and not just any generic pack, but one inspired by my cultural heritage, that of Arabia :smile.gif:
Right now, the pack is still in it's very early stages so it really doesn't show what the final version will look like, as I'm trying to get the basic blocks out first then focusing on doing the detailed geometric patterns or the desert weaponry, one thing you should know about this pack is, like HagenBraun's, is meant for use in singleplayer because I plan on changing the wool blocks into specific objects that may not look like wool at all.
Here is the terrain file:
and the blocks ingame:
Working on:
Fauna!, I'm thinking about adding wild grass support, thoughts and/or ideas?
Known issues: I do all my pixeling in paint which caused the water to lose it's opacity, gonna have to fix that down the line.
Cool stuff! Perhaps you can make some of the tiles mosaics, perhaps the metal blocks. A nice aqua tile mosaic for diamond, perhaps gold meshing for gold blocks, a generic mosaic for iron?

Hm, do you mean like making the metal blocks into specific mosaic patterns? not sure I understand.
Really nice pixeling so far! If you switch to paint.net, you'll be able to do transparency.
Also, the half blocks are still used by the game! The smooth stone half block uses the unique texture, but the cobble, wood and sandstone half blocks share textures with their source material.
Either way, I recommend making one of the stones in the half block a bit different, otherwise they'll get very repetitive when you stack them.

Ohh, I totally didn't think of that :T, I'll do the second one along with sandstone and the remaining ores tomorrow, and I do use paint.net for transparency, I'm just more comfortable working in paint, been using it for 5 years, bad habit 8(
Thanks for the feedback :smile.gif:

@leonel: oh, that's actually exactly what I was planning to do with the wool, since it allows for more variety and is easier to get :smile.gif:.
(although I'm not sure if the patterns you picked would translate well in a 32x32 space)

Well you get the idea! Actually making them wool wouldn't be a bad idea as yes you'd have a much more varied palette. Perhaps the metal blocks would be more like this;
I was thinking maybe you could incorporate the smooth raised part of that picture into the metal block itself, kind of like what Taehl did a long time ago;

Well perhaps an Iron block would look like this;
Gold block
Diamond block

Whats new:
-Leaves
-Sandstone
-Chest
-More ores
-Tweaked the half block
Not really sure I like the leaves, but they're just so so hard to do without making look like... not leaves 8(
