Bumped for update: Added in a new iron armor texture, wolves are now leech hounds, and I've turned growing plants into raising tubeworms. (Note: I fixed the pizza item in the pics, on the actual texture it should NOT be off center.) Pills have now taken the place of cookies, since they seem to suit the purpose better (until I can think of something to replace that as well)

Good texture pack, although it's a little hard to tell things apart. Oh well, still awesome. The only complaint I have is the water. It's blue on the surface. However, when you go underwater, it's red. This is probably a texture problem because I looked in the terrain.png and the water.png and it was a red texture. If nobody knows what i'm talking about, look in the picture. In the distance the water is blue. But enough complaints. This texture pack is so good it deserves DIAMONDS!
Yeah I know there's a lot of issues about telling items apart since so many things have similar colors. I was experimenting with green, yellow and orange-colored slime and it really doesn't carry the same otherworldyness of the purple, but if anyone can suggest a better color I'd be all over it.
Thanks for the praise though, it's much appreciated. As for your water issues though, try installing the patcher to see the water change color.
This pack is really fun to get into, immediately when I created a new world the first thing I did was punch and cut away until I had enough wood and I made a church above an underground dungeon and I dubbed it "Church of the Behemoth" and I went ahead and created this cult that worshipped the living thing. This is a very lovecraftian texture.
The colors themselves work very well to complete the feel of atmosphere in the pack.
Also please finish up the armor retextures. Thank you!
I love the church so far! You can almost hear the low, droning prayers of cultists praising their planet god
Also, I'm in the process of armor reskinning. Just did the metal, thinking of ideas for gold and diamond though. Gold might be a good idea for some kind of cultist's garb though...quite inspiring :smile.gif:
I really like it! Though, I don't really see how I could continually play in it. Red is my favorite color, but that looks like it would burn your eyes after a day or two.
Would it be possible to get the wolf skins separated from the rest? I really like them and don't really want to download and go file spelunking.

Diamonds, good sir! Diamonds.
Sure, why not
normal
angry
tame
Much thanks! :biggrin.gif:
I may use your pack - In the near future, as I can't go on my main comp atm - its just that it seems almost. . . Too different.

Anyway, it looks nice. You did great
Thanks a lot. I know a lot of things are hard on the eyes, and I've begun testing ways to sort of 'wash out' some of the color of the ground. Hopefully this will make it easier to play with, with the flesh being a little more richer in color then the ground. Bone I think is fine the way it is really, as I have yet to find a good texture model for healthy bone tissue. Besides, it seems to tile well. As for slime I might try a orange-cream color, but I can't guarantee it won't look even more gross.
it was funny before i got the wolf/dog skin texture update for this it was odd seeing a pack of normal looking wolves running around in this giant monster/alien place.

With all the bones and meat available, they must have had a field day.
You want my honest opinion? It's REALLY good. However, there are a few things i'd recommend changing. For one, the side grass looks really out of place. I believe the purple sticks out a little too much. Another thing, you should change the moon/sun images and make them something sick like... an eye or something. Other than that, this is a really good unique texture pack. Good job.
Well, this is just revolting. I've made a point of adding this to my selection of texture packs. As it has been said earlier in the thread, there's been many attempts at making a texture pack something like this (few of which are/were very polished), and you have renewed my hope in seeing one of these actually finished. Full steam ahead, you twisted *******!
Thanks for all the useful replies and encouragement so far. I know the biggest concern is the slime/grass/purple stuff that everyone seems to have a problem with. The main reason why it's so hard to fix is the biomes issue.
for example, I tested a new creamish-yellow color for slime and this is what I got:
Now, I don't know how other packs get around biomes coloring their terrain (also, this is why the sides of most grass blocks clash with the usual grass color: sides of blocks aren't subject to the recoloring effect of the biome), most of the ones I've seen just have it as grass, give it a different design, and they're good to go. Since green on red is even more glaring then purple on red, I don't really think this is the answer. I tried adding my own custom biome files, but they only seem to apply if the patcher is used under specific circumstances, and I really would like this to be a pack for everyone.
Sorry if I'm just ranting out, it just seems to be a frustrating thing to fix.
Wow, 5/10 is certainly more then I can hope for with a WIP like this, thanks :smile.gif:
Yeah a lot of things aren't as instantly recognizable as I had hoped, that is something I'm trying to work on bit by bit. And I'm trying to get the main tiles of the world fleshed out before moving on to the nether, but I do have plans to make it the Beast's Stomach. Unfortunately I don't really know what to do with art, maybe turn them into thick veins and large organs to have inside the bases. Overall I was trying to go for a organic/biological living world that the user is another one of the parasitic lifeforms eking out an existence. Still, I appreciate any criticism that can go toward improving what I'm trying to make here.
this is a great texture pack. im even using it right now, but the diamond and gold armor look could use some updating. it would be great if you could also update the look of the compass and watch/sundial or what ever it is.
but other than those little details the texture is great, three thumbs up. hope you have time and thought to make more stuff like this.
i just hope me pointing these things out doesn't make you upset.

Not at all, I welcome constructive criticism much more then empty praise. I've got a few ideas for armors, gold being Cult of the Behemoth robes and diamond being some type of crystal/fleshy living armor. I'll think about what to do with the compass and sundial, probably just keep them as they are but with colors that fit the setting more. Thanks for the encouragement. :smile.gif:
There, finished all the mobs and the vast majority of textures. Now to work on more item varients. Though I made the compass match the bronze metal, I'm not sure just what to do with the clock yet. The dyes might just be a bunch of wet, moist organs to grind together. And of course there's still the ground to play around with, so all in all, I'm still far from done.
PS- I'm aware that the netherrock and the glowstone texture is a recolor with some minor modifications. I found that changing the color to something more 'organ-like' suited the texture just fine. The soulmud I assure you is quite different.
i for one, think this is done well, especially considering it is your first one, i use this very frequently, so only one thing left to say. Diamonds good sir, diamonds!
Do you ever plan on elaborating / working on the design of the ores? They appear rather flat and undefined to me.
Working on it as we speak. Like most, I'm waiting till Notch throws out the next update to update my own pack, but I promise the brain and stomache tissues (aka the restone ore and iron ore) will look more distinctive. As for crystal and tumor (coal), I'm not sure how to make them any more defined then they are since they're kind of clustered and jutting out like they would.
Any other suggestions before the bloodstorms and mucus blizzards hit?
