I love this pack. The scratchy, hand-drawn look is really appealing. It particularly looks great on the dirt and the grass. And the tree trunks. And your leaves, both the deciduous ones and the pine needles are some of the best I've seen in any pack.
Also, those chests and the workbench are gorgeous. The furnace looks great, and the bookcase looks really great too; the books have just a little more character and depth than you usually see.
I agree that the "smooth" stone is very dark and busy, and I'd love to see you do a version of smooth stone that looks a little more like your stone slab half-block. I like the sandstone, and prefer sandstone that's similar in color to regular sand.
I like what you've done with the iron ore, especially the lighter, higher-contrast version. It might look better if the chunks of iron were a little bit thicker. The gold would look better with a bit more orange/brown in it and if it were kind of smeared into the rock like the redstone or the lapis lazuli instead of in chunks. It's surprisingly hard to capture the colors of gold metal. I like the diamond chunks.
I'd also love to see you (or somebody) do a more crystaline-looking glowstone.
And any chance you'd do a light-colored wood like your "infinite" one except with staggered segments of planks? (sort of like long bricks, where two planks join at the midpoint of the plank above and below them, maybe with visible nails, maybe not)
I'm really looking forward to seeing your mobs and items. Also, good call including JohnSmith's lava and water -- his and cferrill's are my favorite animated water/lava textures. Thanks so much for making and sharing this with us!
@Urthman:
Thanks for the detailed review, I like that ! I'm taking note of the critics and requests but I try to finish what's not done yet, unless I'm really unhappy with a texture I've made. I'm thinking of changing the base tree (leaves too small) and stone again.
@MJRBEAN:
Here's my roadmap:
1/ Finishing blocks
2/ Minecart, boat
3/ Sheep & cow
4/ Interface probably
5/ The rest...
Items will probably come last, as I'm not fond of pixel art.

I just want to say that I love your texture pack, I've tried many different ones, and yours is my favourite! I actually joined the forums so I could let you know, can't wait till you add a different Inv UI and weapons. :smile.gif:

Far be it from me to argue against you trying a new look for any of your textures, but I do really like your current base tree leaves. They are a nice balance between a suggestive shape and something that tries to clearly draw each individual leaf. And the density is just about right too, giving the trees a full head of leaves but leaving space to peek through from a treehouse.
Given how great your pine needles also are, I wouldn't mind seeing you try another idea for leaves, but make sure you leave the current ones in your pack as an option.
Feels strange to actually see my pack used by someone else. x) Don't you use Wild Grass ? It feels so empty without it !

The leaves are ok for birch trees but I want something bigger, softer, for normal trees, that makes less aliasing artifacts in the distance. Too bad birches don't have their own texture...

I hate wild grass. On another note, I really like the way you designed the minecart tracks. I've stopped using your pack though because it's too dark for me overall. Especially the stone and the ore contrast isn't high enough. For now I mainly use doku's new pack: DokuCraft. Maybe I'll revisit yours in the future when it's more complete. Thanks for the hard work and good luck as you go forward!

Except for the stone-y things, my textures are basically as bright as Dokucraft, after the changes I've made in 0.6.
Dokucraft is the only pack I happen to be using sometimes. I like strong themed packs and Doku is a talented and experienced artist so the result is great. :smile.gif:

Look's great but looking for a pack that look's more like Misa's
Mh, maybe try Misa's then, I guess it's the closest you can get to Misa's.

Haha cool, I'm just months away from being done ! ^^ I would only put high res videos on the OP, though, I don't know how this can be done with Youtube.
Sneak peek at the pumpkin and waterlily :
I'll release v0.7 soon after they release Minecraft 1.5.
Huho, I should start working on rain, snow and the minecart booster !

Though I'm sure you want to do things your own way, Koolwitak had some good ideas for booster and detector tracks in the Mixcraft thread. Just to give you a notion of it.

That's basically what I did - one of the nice things about texture packs is the ability to combine what you like. It's not hard, once you know how.
In fact, I've kind of been cobbling my favorite textures from Ovo and Gerudoku together for a nice hand-painted look in my game.
