I'll consider it when I have posted the pack to minecraftcustomizer.net, it would then make more sense for me to spend time on doing alternates.
I Checked out this site after you mentioned it the other day, and I look forward to being able to swap in the textures you haven't finished yet, but once you finish them, I'm 100% Ovo!
Wow, I gotta say, this is the first texture pack I actually like! It looks really nice. I'm an especially big fan of the lapiz lazuli block! :smile.gif:
With that said, I have some suggestions/questions for you!
1. Could you tone down the detail on the smooth stone texture? It just seems a little too intricate to be a stone wall. Could you go for something like this? I made this real quick by taking your texture, scaling it up 2x, cropping it, making it seamless then tweaking the sharpness and brightness/contrast:
The original:
2. Along those lines, could you do the same with the cobblestone? This one could be just me, since my house is like 90% cobblestone, but it just seems like there are too many stones per block.
3. Could you make an alternate creeper-styled pumpkin? :biggrin.gif:
4. Could you make an alternate netherrack texture that's less pig intestines and more red rocks or maybe just skulls?
5. Maybe turn up the saturation for the glowstone a bit? And could you make it... pop as much as that lapiz lazuli block does?
The original:
That's all I can think of for now. Keep up the good work man!
EDIT: Are the sun and moon supposed to be diagonal? Can you do a version with a square moon and sun? And are the beds supposed to have brown pillows? Also, could you make gold and diamond ores more... stuffed?
Doesn't want much does he? My opinion: Don't do these. (Except the glowstone, that would be cool)
1) The stone looking the way it does is part of why this pack looks so cool. I Love the dichotomy between the stone and the cobblestone - I use both in my construction to give light and dark contrast.
2) Cobblestone is one of the textures where you can really see your artistic ability, thereby setting the feel for the whole pack
3) Interesting, no comment on this one.
4) HELL NO! If skulls are put in, I will stop using your pack.
5) Would be cool
Edits) I'd rather see you work on new stuff, than tweak stuff you have already done.
My main problem with the stone texture is how it looks as I'm mining. When you're surrounded by smooth stone, it just looks too... detailed for my liking. As part of a building it looks fine, but I'd like smooth stone that's styled a bit more like the default stone in the sense that it has a low amount of detail noise. Perhaps there's a way to redo the texture where it still keeps its contrast with cobblestone as-is?
About the cobblestone... I kinda threw in that suggestion as an afterthought. It really doesn't need that much improvement. I guess what I was really asking was to just make each individual stone bigger, like having less stones per block.
Also, about the netherrack, I'm not asking him to replace it, just to offer it (honestly I'd prefer red stones over skulls anyway) as an alternative texture.
I really want the texture pack to be as amazing as possible instead of getting it as soon as possible, by the way.
Keep up the good work, OP!
EDIT: I'd settle for all of my proposed changes being alternate textures for a customizer app, btw!
Squirrel: 1.8 has been "Pre-released" and there are some missing textures. To clarify I can't wait for the full release of 1.8 and an updated Ovo texture pack with all of the cool new stuff :-)
I also totally disagree with whiplash. I love the stone and cobble stone the way they are. I would not change them at all. Love the netherrack. I also like the current glowstone, but whatever is cool with me.

uploadet a 3d version...biggest problem is, that the ingame chest texure is buggy since 3 pixel of the upper part and of the lower part of the chest overlap and the game doesn't know which one to show. (you can see the bug a little in the on the lower left chest)
edit:...hm actually it should be 4 pixels since the same bug also appears in the default texturepack...strange
I won't be able to work on the pack for some time again sorry.
I've uploaded what I've done last week-end (various stone bricks, iron bars, watermelon and I just added the chest textures shared by Grillhamsta, thanks !), so it's working for 1.8, the rest has the default textures : here

Since Ovo is away and we're all eager to customize / update our packs, I thought I would post some of my personal alterations in case anyone else wants to use them :smile.gif:
They include:
-Lower contrast smoothstone + ores
-Grey and less contrast gravel
-Sexy planks and bookshelf I found in the ctm.png
-Window that tiles perfectly with sexy planks
-Smooth slabs, less contrast
-Framed Gemblocks
-Lightstone made by editing the diamond block
-Red Clay (ftw!)
-Lighter Spiderweb
-Small bunch of roses and a shorter yellow flower
-Purple bed
-Fresher and more colorful wool blocks
-Old style sandstone
I have just Updated to 1.8 And The grass block is messed up.
It has a mini thumbnail of A portal and Fire on it. I tried Starting up minecraft With a different Texture pack and the grass Was fine.
This is a bit annoying... I love your Texture pack so Please try and fix this. No rush though!
Take your time.
Thank's Bro!
it is a graphical artifact. Just because minecraft doesn't crash now when you use an HD texture, doesn't mean it fully supports it. You still need to use MCPatcher, which is updated btw.

Just a thought, but if it overlaps, and looks funny, make the overlap look the same, then you can't tell when it's switching. Might be a challenge to get the textures to look right, but it's a solution.

won't work, if you can even see the glitch in the default textures where the overlap is completly black it will always be seen. guess we'll have to wait for a fix.
High Praise Indeed! Keep up the good work!

Am I missing something? Is 1.8 out? When?

edit: heres a 3d version
Looks pretty good. Don't suppose you have a 3d so we can see how that translates....

it supports 1.8s old textures but not the new ones such as singe-plain glass, metal fences, and animations such as pulling a bow back =/
