Great Texturepack :smile.gif: I <3 It :biggrin.gif:
good to see people making accounts just to post on this loevely pack (I did so myself aswell)
About the easiest way I can think to help with high res water is to have it flow back and forth for the still water. Perhaps putting a few light changes here and there :smile.gif:
First of all the new update (as expected) looks fantastic. Forget the haters, inspiration is existent in everything and most of the time every thought of yours is not even respective to you. Basically everything about art and the way of doing things takes inspiration to result in success and future improvement.
Anyway I love the new grass. It seems like it was much less of a hassle to tile! On another note the new bricks fit sooooo much better with the all around style with the pack. On that note if the cobble wasn't improved to a more bright variant in update v1.0, I doubt the bricks would have fit in, so Cheers to you! Finally I must say that I did like the torch from the previous update a little better and therefore i'm glad you kept it as an alternate.
For the next update I agree with xSSheep and strongly suggest straying away from animated water and lava. I think that additional items and the particles.png file should be overhauled. I think the new torch would look better with new flames and really theres nothing that go wrong because of it (plus it's not as hard...).
Another great update Ovo! Looking forward to more.
yeah the forum is back an there is a new version of my favorite texture pack
two things:
1. the bricks are ugly ... i never saw a brick wall with red joints ... my suggestion make the joints much smaller or put mortar in them
2. the torch looks great ... but they look strange before the fire animation starts ... my suggestion make the yellow part a little bit higher and more looking like fire
1) It's not meant to be realistic and obviously I prefer with red joints otherwise I'd have sticked with the previous version (which is in the alternates btw). But I can surely try to remove the joints altogether, this would make everyone more people happy.
2)I'll try.

The whole seas and lakes going back and forth, I bet it would look strange. :tongue.gif:

Thanks ! I'd better spend some time on the particles indeed. And I really feel the need to finish the "overhaul" of the old textures I made that don't fit the more pictural and soft style I have now. I.e. glowstone, gravel, stone, sandstone, at least.
I love your tools so far. So many HD tools look great in the inventory screen but not so good when held in your hand, but yours look great both ways. That arrow is really nice too. I'm really looking forward to seeing you do more of the items.
I hope you'll consider getting a little more creative with the wood and stone tools instead of just re-coloring the other ones. I love texture packs that give you clubs for your wood and stone weapons and that make the wood and stone tools look like crude make-shift tools.
The new cobblestone is excellent. Looks great close-up and far away. There are a couple vertical lines that line up with each other and stand out looking a little bit artificial, but as a whole the texture is much better than most at avoiding those artificial patterns when seen from a distance.
I really like the new torch, too. The fancy cup fits in very well with the detailing on your wooden doors and chests. I wonder if you'd want to add some detailing to the frame of your bed as well?
I have to say the new bricks are very well drawn but I like the old ones much better. Might you want to make a version of your clay that is red to match your bricks?
As always, thank you for all your work on this pack and for sharing it with us. Your artwork is great and adds a lot to my enjoyment of Minecraft.
Not sure if you just forgot or not, but I never did receive that PM! Sorry if I sound rude or nagging, I really don't intend to be, it's just I would love to see the ideas you have for the gui! :tongue.gif:
Ovo's can u put the 1.0 torche in the alt folder i really like the old one i've changed the dirt bricks and the mossy to the old one i liked them better.. LOVE!!!! EEVRY THING ELSE!! keep up the good work! :smile.gif: my fav is the green bed with brown pillow i LOVE THAT! your a talented artist :biggrin.gif:
this is a great update :biggrin.gif: the dirt and torches look great! the hotbar is fantastic, too. The only complaint I have is that the torches look a little not-torchy in the hotbar.
Thanks for all the comments again and especially the walls of text, that I do like a lot. ^^
I have bad news for the near future of the texture pack : I've just received a positive answer that I didn't expect anymore for a fruit harvesting job, and they want me to start as soon as possible. I don't think I'll have the internet or even time for Minecraft anymore for multiple weeks so this marks the start of my big summer break. I will leave home thursday, which is also coincidentally the release day for Minecraft 1.7. I'll try to get prepared for it tomorrow and post an update thursday morning. After this, you'll be on your own.
If I seem to have disappeared when the 1.8 update feels really close, don't hesitate to tell me by PM, I'll try to keep the pack up to date.
Thanks to Jeb I can finish on a positive note though : he's just said that adding HD support to the game was on his ToDo list. Yepee ! He added that he had a lot of funnier things to do before. Boo ! Time to bug him about it ! :wink.gif: Source
To the one who asked about puting the old torch in the Alternates, it is in already !

At the end of the day it's a good thing. While your pack is one of the top ones out of them all, real life duties come first, so if
one thing can be said it would be: congratulations!
On another note, on your down time I believe everyone would love to see you just overlooking the comments at bare minimum, to compensate for the lack of work on the pack itself, besides for the crucial title updates.
None the less, this seems to be a positive thing. Real work is more necessary than virtual work.
Good luck Ovo and no one would be upset if you do end up finding a few minutes to scramble down sketches and
stuff of the sort for the fans with whom adore this pack!
PS: At what adress can we PM you? Is it inside your so called profile or an email.
Your welcome !
I'll certainly keep an eye on the comments as I'm receiving mail notifications, but I expect them to just die out if there's nothing new to annouce and if I'm not very present to answer anymore.
To send me a PM it's on my profile page. That way you're sure I'll get notified.
I'll probably keep an eye on Minecraft's updates too but I'm saying that just in case.
Oh and no need to congratulate me for the job, it's the simplest paid job one can find. It's good for my rustic inspiration though. :wink.gif:
Although I am sad you won't be around as much for a while, I'm sure you'll be back afresh with ideas. I trust you will still find the time to create amongst your other responsibilities and hope the sun shines a plenty. Best wishes, mate. :smile.gif:
I really enjoy your pack, very solid work. My only question ... is there any way to make the textures slightly brighter. It's much harder mining deep in caves with your texture pack then the original as yours appears darker. Really enjoyed the work that you did on this.
The break may give you a lot of time to refresh from this pack seeing as you very well near burned yourself out of it and quit on us ;D. Real life sould always come first (even if 1.7 somehow made all blocks curve to landscape :ohmy.gif:)

And it is, very nicely constructed!

Curse PremiumThe torches especially.
But when you do the passive mobs, please don't put realistic faces on them. It looks like **** :tongue.gif:
