First off, I love the texture packs that people create and I really enjoy looking at the pictures of them but I always find that whenever I install one I eventually end up going back to the Default texture pack shortly there after.
Now, it's nothing against the texture packs that I'm using, as I really quite enjoy a lot of the ones that are out there and people have really created some beautiful looking textures. There's just something about the good ol' Vanilla that I really love and enjoy and so this thought came to me, what if I made a 64x64 texture pack that is still the original texture pack and so that is what I've been trying out lately.
Pretty much all that I have done is download the 64x64 texture pack template by MrGame and then grabbed a copy of the terrain.png from my minecraft folder and copy and pasted several of the default texture packs onto each 64x64 block. What this does is make it so instead of one default dirt texture pack per one dirt block it has 16 of the the default dirt textures per dirt block. Below are some pics to show what I mean. I've also tried to make some of the items a little bit cleaner looking like the torches and plants.
Let me know what you guys think of it and if you think I should finish up enough of it to release a terrain.png
I don't like it 'cause it's so big. Makes Minecraft look huge.

I really like the textures that you have made without tiling others like the workbench, furnace and ladders! I hope you do a few more of these like the ores (perhaps have tiled stone, with smooth ores on top?).
i agree with them ,everything is too big(unless it's just the pictures). Also, I feel make everything is so blocky, their textures. Try to make things flow a little better and make it look less like they are split into little sections. And do us all a favor and change the cobblestone skin :wink.gif:
First of all, you should fix the planks. They are WAY too small. the "C/P default textures 16 times for each block" thing worked well, but not for the planks.
Second of all, the torches and ladders look kinda bad.
Work on those and this TP would be awesome.

Net_Bastard's Epic Low-res! As much awesomeness that you can cram into a 5x5 texture pack, and then some!
