Hi, I was thinking of making a new texture pack, but I want to make it a bit at a time, in which I would fail (and sometimes get different blocks confused) if I used an edited pack, so, yah, if you can give me a link, or a link to a place with a link, or a video, or anything, many thanks.
The problem is I'm using Minecraft.exe, not .jar, so can you just upload it on sendspace or some other site that DOESEN'T require an acount to download from and give me a link or something? I tryed using the .jar version, but it wouldn't work.

The Minecraft.exe uses the .jar file, which is saved to
C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin
This folder is set to hidden by default. To make it visible:
[*:to4p5iig]Go to your C: drive
[*:to4p5iig]Select "Tools" from the menu bar. (If you are on Vista, press the "alt" key to make it appear.)
[*:to4p5iig]Select the option "Folder Options" and wait for a new menu to appear.
[*:to4p5iig]In that menu, there are three tabs at the top. Select the "View" tab.
[*:to4p5iig]Open the "Files and Folders" options, and then open the "Hidden files and folders" option.
[*:to4p5iig]Select "Show hidden files and folders."
[*:to4p5iig]Select apply, and close out of all of the menus.
Now, navigate back to the \.minecraft\bin folder.
Open "minecraft.jar" with your archive editor of choice. I recommend 7z, but WinRAR is just as good.
From there, you can see all of the files you want.
"Terrain.png" is at the root of the archive, so just ignore all of the folders and scroll down. Then, simply extract the file to your desktop by dragging and dropping it. You can now open it in whatever editor you chose.
Reason I'm telling you this instead of uploading the image for you is because Minecraft updates all the time, and Notch changes the terrain.png file all the time as new blocks are added. It is much easier to just get the file for yourself instead of asking people to do it for you every time the game updates.
I'm terrible at tutorials, but there are plenty out there.
This should get you started.

I hope this helped!
