So Minecraft finally got updated to the 'release' version.
And despite the joy we should be feeling the festivities are being overshadowed because Notch and Yogscast refused to man up and discuss **** with each other in person and decided instead to have a little war of words over world's crappiest blog service: twitter. Personally I hope this feud continues because it is grossly entertaining!
Luckily for those of us who aren't celebrities online, we have a nice shiny new version of Minecraft out. And while not much changed since the last prerelease (which I couldn't update for either because I was too busy.), we got a ton of new sound effects, a few new particle effects, some new blocks, a very long and painful boss battle, and the most confusing end credits since the end of Whose Line Is It Anyway.
So let's skip right to the good stuff shall we? I know what you want. MMMMM I CAN SMELL IT ON YOU. DRIPPING. SOPPING WET. HOT. LIKE THE LOWER GAS BLADDER OF A LARGE RED DRAGON WHICH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR IGNITING VOLATILE CHEMICALS WHICH ARE THEN EMITTED THROUGH THE TRACHEA AS A MEANS OF DISABLING PREDATORS AND CATCHING PREY. DOES THAT TURN YOU ON? IT BETTER.
Because here is the new dragon! Yaaay!
Once again, a BIG kudos to my partner in crime, LostKingpin, without whom I would not have these nice daylight screenshots of the dragon. He keeps saving my bacon. TURKEY BACON. Happy thanksgiving?
You guys have no idea how happy I was to see that my skin for this dragon worked 100% perfectly the first time without me having to go back and edit ANYTHING. I'm still crying with happiness.

WELL IT'S FIXED NOW.
And here is the Ender Crystal. I like these things alot. They look badass and make cool sounds. I want to craft them and put them on an unholy throne of agony in a dark castle full of imaginary bats because we no bats in the game. :C
Here's a good look at the new Enderstone texture. I hope the End doesn't wind up like the Nether. A bunch of cool stuff but nothing to really DO when you're there.
I wanted the beam that comes out of the Crystals to look 20% cooler so I completely redid it.

I swear to God, baby dragons better come out of this thing for all the work that goes into getting it.
And that dragon had better have amazing AI. So it doesnt leap into lava like wolves do. I WILL SWIM TO SWEDEN SO HELP ME GOD.
I am really sick of the shitty old moon. The one with the face. Notch adding moon phases gave me an excuse to ditch the old moon and make a new swirly moon. With phases, even.
And to finish these pictures off, here is the Enderstone next to some other blocks. I think it fits in pretty well.
Everything is great. Everything is grand. I got the whole wide world in the palm of my hand!
Undocumented Changes: - updated localization files for Botswana
- updated localization files for Fiji
- updated localization files for Sealand
- reduced the length of the flamethrower
- removed the flamethrower
- removed the pyro
- gave the Heavy a minigun that instant kills. Downside is 2% slower windup speed
- removed headshots from the sniper. Bodyshots now do headshot damage on all guns.
- gave the scout the shotgun, because why the **** not
- gave the soldier a rocket launcher that shoots confetti. Does no damage. Make sure to shoot sentries with it.
- gave the demoman 10 new swords. They replace his grenade launchers now.
- replaced the demoman with a sword
Today's update adds:

skins for LostKingpin's new centaur mob
it also fixes cows and sheep having upside down anuses.
it ALSO adds a couple new varieties of snowman and enderman which work right off the bat with the randommobs mod which is now a part of McPatcher which you should be using anyway.
In the future I'll try to give some more of my pigs 3d snouts and add a few new varieties of silverfish.

Its an incredible mod. Hell I wish every videogame had a mod like that. I'm so tired of how in videogames every time you see flora or fauna its the same model/texture as the last one you saw. I mean its friggin 2011. Variety is the spice of life!
Anyway. Speaking of LostKingPin, he updated the way his mods are organized so I fixed that.

Let's get down to brass tacks. I haven't been able to do much to this pack in the last month or so. I've been busy with two animated short films. One which is for the BBC which you may or may not ever see. And one I've been making with my good friend Willva. And that one you CAN see. Right now in fact:
With that over with and life slowly returning to normal I decided to fulfill the above request for new glowstone and apples.
Here we see the lightstone living in a cluster. They will remain this way until they reach maturity, where then, the young kings and queens of the cluster will fly off to other parts of the Nether to start colonies of their own.
Lightstone is handy for making lamps in an attempt to simulate a minecraft society where NPC's aren't reskinned chickens.
With some creativity, you can create some very cool places using this method:
GENTLEMEN. BEHOLD. APPLES THAT ACTUALLY SOMEWHAT RESEMBLE THE FRUIT THEY WERE ORIGINALLY BASED ON! PLEASE. CONTAIN YOUR ORGASMS.

I received a private message on this message board not but a few days ago that I did not look in until now. Imagine my shock when a kindly fellow named XTREMIXED had taken it upon himself to create some nice new alternate mob textures for zekocraft for the randommobs part of the MCPATCHER mod. Wowie zowie kablowie!
They were so good I actually ended up adding a large majority of them to the texture pack!
Words cannot express how thankful I am for that!
He has done all the work for me! Now I too, can vacation and wear a fedora instead of work! Hell yeah!
So, in summary:
