I would like to introduce the the texture pack I made over the last little while, often obsessively much too late into the night. Though most of that was probably admiring my own work.
It's not for everyone, I didn't intend it to be. Some things aren't great, but I like it. I expect and welcome criticism and advice, but at the end of the day, I made this texture pack because it makes Minecraft look like the way I want too. If you like it too, than that's awesome. If you don't, I'm glad to hear your opinion, but please be nice and civil.
Some things differ from the default, some things don't. See below for a more detailed explanation of what is changed.
Meet Infratux. The simplistic but classy remake of the default Minecraft texture.
Some textures are totally custom, Netherrack, Cobblestone, Saplings, Ladders and Redstone Dust are some of the most.
Some textures are just modified via blurring and fancy editing, Dirt and all it's incarnates being the most obvious. Wood is only slightly blurred making it blend more easily. Iron/Gold/Diamond blocks just have a diagonal line through them. >.>
Stone was blurred, than given some noise, and edited by hand to make it just the way I wanted. A little noisy, but still stark. I than used that texture and hand made the minerals.
Clay was blurred a bit and had hand-drawn mini pictures of clay on it to make it easily recognizable from stone.
Chests, Workbenches, Furnaces, Music Box/Jukebox, Doors, and dispensers had only small aesthetic changes made to them. You can see for yourself what they are. The same with Sugar Cane. I wanted to get rid of the Reed look, so I added some strange leaves to it. o.0
Beds I made purple, and made them look like someone had slept in it instead of Minecraft-Man's mom fixing it for him every morning.
Wool/cloth looks a bit more smooth, better for building with I think.
The rest you can see for yourself, thank you for reading and hopefully downloading! ^.^
I plan next on working on mobs and water and lava. (Does anyone know how to change the look of water and lava? It didn't work for me...) And I will also change foliage colors as soon as that bug gets fixed. Probably change the look of leaves soon as well.
Please leave your opinions, good or bad I would love to hear them.
I think the grass should tile a little better. That one very obvious dark green block kinda ruins it for me. The minecart rails look kinda weird too, it needs more of the wooden sticks (not sure what you call them)
How is that? I tested them myself, they worked fine for me. You are using Beta 1.3_1 right?
And also, I plan on making the pattern in grass a little less obvious, but I don't know how to do it without making it extremely noisy, which is exactly what I'm trying to avoid.
