So I was playing around with the bed texture and I noticed a few interesting things about how beds are rendered.
First off, beds are transparent blocks, just like glass and doors. This means that any holes you put in them won't result in the see-through the world glitch.
Secondly, the bed model doesn't include the legs. Those just make use of the fact that beds can be transparent.
Some shots showing what I mean:

This means we can have floating beds and the like. The only really limiting part is the wooden bottom that uses the wood plank texture. So if you want beds that don't have full sides (hammock?) make sure to place them someplace where you won't be able to see the bottom.

Back to serious, this is really interesting. I can't wait to see what people will do with this.
