I've recently downloaded the Contrillion Painterly pack (cuz it purrty), and being a Mac user (OSXv10.5.8), and stubborn as all hell, I'd rather not fart-ass around with any parallels or freaky code-editing checklists of things to do.
Yes, I realise that most Mac users face this difficulty when dealing with anything to do with editing any programs on a Mac, but hey - i'm lazy!
So. My question to you educated folk out there.
How the feck do i make this pack work?
I've put it into my textures pack folder, compressed it - it shows up in the game, but does not engage when in use.
I'm really not getting what I'm doing wrong?
I've got (as you can see) the zipped and non-zipped versions of the downloads, but still they're having a conniption.
Below is what comes up in-game when on the Texture and Mods Packs when the files are in the above locations.
Anyone have any ideas?
Other than giving up?
These packs look pretty!
The default OS X archiving software does not work with minecraft. You have to zip it with something else.
Try betterzip instead.
also: wtf, move the minecraft.app out of your texturepack folder, this is just wrong.
also, if you are using safari: try not to download texturepacks with safari. safari unzips downloaded archives automatically. using chrome or firefox you wouldn't have to zip them because most (all?) texturepack download are zips already.
Very helpful!
I'll try re-downloading using Firefox.
Thanks, Kanni.
