Ravecat, cut it out. Regardless of how wild may have acted, you have a duty as a human being to be civil to others. How you handled this situation was more immature than wild, and I must say that I've lost quite a bit of my original respect for you.
Cut it out? Cut what out, he wanted a reply and he got one. The attitude in my post stems from the attitude and unfairness in his. Understand that.
I don't have any duty to anybody, but when I am attacked personally, and when my integrity is under attack, I will defend myself.
The way he acted is not okay. The way he assumed and continues to assume this pack is a "rip off" and that I am a thief is not okay. It was just downright pretentious of him to assume anybody had taken his idea.
I have every right to be offended by such accusations and I'm sorry that you feel how you do, but you also didn't recieve a threatening message from him. You, yourself, told him to talk to me. Had he done that, I would have talked to him and we'd be done here. But no, he attacked me, and you are a hypocrite if you think it's not okay for me to be angered by the way he approached me.
He swore at me and he claimed I simply took his pack and "added a little" and released it. That could not be further from the truth, and him saying that made me quite angry. I spent hours ripping the textures and arranging this texture pack myself. I accidentally left placeholder water in, but that is a simple mistake that gives him no right to be so offensive and aggressive towards me and my work.
At the end of the day, whether I retaliated or not he is the one who took this out of hand and it was unecessary. I do put my behaviour above his, because if he had been nice we WOULD have worked this out in a civil manner and I wouldn't have had to react in kind. I totally disagree that my behaviour is worse. I am far more civil, if I were not I would not be removing his water and I would have been far, far more aggressive. It's unfortunate you can't see the civility in my prior post, and the lack thereof in his posts and the message he sent me. I for one don't parade around suggest people have stolen my ideas.
AGAIN, if he had been civil, this would have been worked out in a civil manner. He chose not to be civil, he chose to attack me. Therefore he had nothing to expect but retaliation on my part.
Also, I'm trying to please people by releasing this pack, you can choose to enjoy it, you can choose to respect me, or you can choose otherwise, but losing some guy's respect on the internet is hardly relevant to me or this texture pack.
Ultimately, I hope this drama dies down and that we can all just enjoy my pack. That's what it is, too; my pack. I ripped the textures and put them together myself, and I accidentally left the water in before releasing it because I didn't realize. A single, small error is no reason to attack somebody. Everyone, just enjoy the pack. That's what this thread is for, it's not to take pot shots at me or anybody else.
I like how this is a shameless rip off of my pack. No really, I really appreciate the mention. :sleep.gif:
EDIT: Hell, a handful of the textures you just lifted from MY pack. What the hell man?
Also, just to settle this, I went through both the textures to check which were direct copies.
Textures which are ripped from the game
- The grass, (except in Ravecat's texture, it's not biome compliant)
- The stone
- The gravel
- Bedrock
- The door
Textures which are a direct copy from the wild's pack:
- The water
Seriously?....
Also, I made a better sandstone texture as well.
I'll post it when I come home.
edit:
Sandstone
Brick
(Both are ripped from the game)
Also, you might want to use the ripped texture for dirt that wild used as well. It's better than your dirt texture :tongue.gif:
Your diamond block needs some tweaking, your ore blocks have some noise on the edges of the rupees, your door should perhaps have a window (because it enables you to see mobs), your rail needs attention, your tree-textures need a solid color on the fast-version and your grass and trees needs to be gray to enable biomes.
Oh, and the redstone might be made more "wind waker"-ish, I think.
You know, if you and wild got together to make one pack, it would be awesome, you know.

Cheers for that. Actually I much prefer my dirt, I like the style it gives against the grass. His is just recoloured stone... Mine is actually dirt.
I was considering adding a window to the door, but people have said not to because it's true to Wind Waker.
I'll fix the biome-trees and fast version too.
The noise on ore is because it's been rotated, but if it looks that bad I can fix it.
What would be a better redstone replacement?
Work together? Lolno, I am more than capable myself. After all, whether people believe it or not I did rip and compile this pack myself. Honestly you can easily see how much more my pack has in it. Your help is very appreciated though, Fluesopp.
Ravecat, there is absolutely no reason for you not to be mad, nor is there any reason for me not to be mad after your hostility towards me. But you know what? I'm not letting that anger come into my post. And you know why? Because if I did, I would be yelling at you right now. And would you like that? Nope, not one bit. Regardless of how the other person has acted, it is irrational to explode at them, and it only worsens the problem. If you take the moral high-ground and stay calm, then they have no reason to continue how they're acting; after all, it looks like wild genuinely thought you ripped him off, so doesn't he then have the right to be mad? So then he acts mad because he believes you did something wrong, then you act mad because you believe he did something wrong, and you get nowhere.
EDIT: A few more things.
First, I would say you were worse than him. You barraged him with sarcasm and general rudeness, whereas his first post was ruffled and angry. He then proceeded to apologize for any rudeness, and seemed to be quite reasonable once I talked to him in a calm manner.
Second, you act as if he's the only one talking here. Just because his original post was angry and rude doesn't mean the whole discussion has to be. You have a choice, and yet you act like someone getting mad for thinking someone stole their work is a horrible thing, while being sarcastic and rude in return is not.
EDIT TWO: I don't mean to be pretentious here, but I would like to give an example. A little while after I posted my first texture pack, someone PMed me with some "fixes." Here is the full quote of both the original PM and my reply (they never replied back).

I retextured the terrain for billycraft because the ores, TNT, glowstone and pumpkin looked a little weird. The ores were a little bit too hard to see underwater so I made them easier to see.
So that's your decision then? Please don't edit my work without permission. I do not like your edits (although TNT and glowstone could definitely be improved), and I will not use them.
See? I was angry there, and I didn't sugar coat things. But also notice the lack of sarcasm or insults, or anything else that's really rude for that matter; I kept it short and simple, and was more or less calm.
I disagree with your reasoning. Not only that but I was never rude to you, nor did I attack you.
I've also recieved messages like that, only I've taken them much more gracefully and thanked them for their interest in their pack, instead of getting mad.
This is an entirely different situation, because it is not someone suggesting improvements for my pack, it is someone accusing me of stealing.
I don't care how his attitude changed after talking to you, because in his posts and messages to me, he was still rude and irrational. I stand by the fact that I believe I was far more logical, reasonable, and calm about it. He did not apologise to ME, he apologised to YOU while continuing to insult and threaten me.
I do not explode, and I do not yell. Sarcasm is a common function of speech, and if you think it is so horrible you really need to reevaluate your views. Plus, at least I had foundation for being angry. He's worse if only because he made an assumption and let that make him act angry and irrational. Assumptions are bad.
You are not some moral authority that gets to decide who can and can't be angry, and how they can and can't react, so stop acting like it.
Also, I really wasn't hostile to you at all, no idea why you're so mad. It seems your understanding of attitude and reasoning is off a lil'. Especially if you think I'm worse because I was a little sarcastic when otherwise I've been nothing but calm. What you're doing is enabling people who make assumptions, get mad, and make accusations at people who don't deserve it. If this forum was filled with people like that we'd never get anywhere, because we'd all just be yelling it each other. What I did was put him in his place.
Thanks for your thoughts, but look, at the end of the day, as a fellow texture pack creator you should see why it was so hard to be nice to him.
Ravecat-
I respect you alot, and I know that you meant no harm. The way you said things, to me, really didnt make me dislike you. I understood, because I have a 64x64 banjo tooie texture pack that if anyone claimed I "stole" Id be angry.
And to tingle, I really dont think your receiving the message right. Its not your fault though, no, not at all. You just mis-interpreted it, and thats fine. Sometimes its hard to realize someone isnt being mean when its just a block of text.
Billy, I do try to value your opinion. However, I can't come to accept it when you are trying to insist I'm doing something wrong, because I don't think I am. I admit I was somewhat harsh, but I don't feel it was too harsh.
Nick, thank-you for your support. I'm glad you understand.
Coming in the next ten mintues... The next update! :biggrin.gif:

Anagram; for the Legend of Zelda armour.
ChaosMiles07; for various misc. Minish Cap items.
Xau; for the HD texture patcher.
Gyroman; item fixes.
Leeumm; 1.3 fixes.
Dableo; ClayCraft Tree-top texture.
MrMessiah; for making BetterLight, which is amazing.
Nintendo; for making a beautiful game like Wind Waker.
Fluesopp; Bricks, Water, Sandstone.
I'd like to hold a competition of sorts; would anybody like to try and design a new grass tile?
Also, if redstone still isn't working, I have no idea, because it is for me... Can anybody help with that?
Grass: it needs to be grayscale.
Also, the placement of redstone has changed. It is now somewhere underneath the bed.
Also, there is not two versions anymore. Just a grayscale which is colored in-game depending on how far away it is.
Also, when I was talking about fixing the fast version I was just meaning that you should fill the transparent holes in the texture with solid color. Not make the whole block solid color :tongue.gif:

But it's a good pack, nonetheless.
I tried the grass as greyscale, but I don't like the way Minecraft handles it so I changed it back.

Try to change the grasscolor.png (and foliage, for trees) under the misc folder.
It decides which color the grass should have in which areas.
