Instructions:
1. Ensure your game is clean by deleting 'version' and 'minecraft.original.jar' (if it exists) from your bin folder.
2. Load up Minecraft to patch the game to the latest version, then close it out.
3 .Put my texture pack in the 'texturepack' folder
4. Run the latest HD Texture Fix Patcher.
5. Check the 'Texture Pack' box then browse to and select the zip of my texture pack.
6. Select 256x256 for the tile size and check all five boxes below.
(NOTE: If you get a black screen when loading the game, uncheck custom Water and Lava. The patcher should uncheck these automatically on new update.)
7.Click Patch.
Optional:
0. If using Optimine, install it first! This disables some cool features but the game will run more smoothly. Good for laptops and old PCs.
1. Run MrMMods patcher, patch
2. Run Zan's Minimap, install with 1.
3. Install rest of the mods.
4. If Zan's Minimap isn't working, patch with 2 (ModLoader fix).
I've replaced the glass to include a stained glass pattern after a glass frame with the Assassin's Creed logo in it wasn't as awesome looking as I would have hoped.
Replaced sand to make it fully 256x256 rather then the placeholder upscaled 128x sand textures I had in before.
Furthermore, lava now no longer has a blue-ish feel to it, and is now properly darkened, iron ore has had a complete makeover, and coal now no longer "shines" in its unmined form, like IRL.
I still need to look at adding a custom cake texture, as well as figure out which items I'll want to customize, and work on getting some HD mob/animal textures worked out.
I'm also working on getting a new screenshot up showing the blocks, look to the OP for that.
you should make the ores not look like they were just chopped and copy pasted onto the stone...I had the same thing going when I started my pack.. there is still an example of what I'm talking about and the progression of mine in my comments on my pack thread.. No offense meant btw.. just advice from someone who is working on a first pack. The main issue is you cant see the stone beneath, and I dont see how they would tile at all. you have an idea of what you want and you have committed to it, keep it up. It's good to see more people attempting 256x packs.
not really removing depth...just size.. I found while messing with it so much that depth wasn't an issue at all... the ores were just way to big to be anywhere near realistic or aesthetically pleasing... not to mention the whole tiling mess...lol I ended up not only changing the stone texture on mine to be more accommodating but also resizing them to be a middle ground between what I wanted and what would look good for my lack of skill/experience with texture modding. most of them still give the illusion of sticking out of the stone from the stone at most angles until you are right up on them(where they admittedly lose resolution), but this is a problem that will be fixed once we have better shaders again.(fingers crossed)
Ahh, okay, I gotcha now.. I'll see about putting them ores in a tad more realistic fashion :smile.gif:
Texture pack news! Fixed bed textures, had a little floating area Fixed graphical glitches with the 1.3 redstone, though it still looks plain black when off.. Added in different bricks, smoothstone and stone slabs! (They tile rather nice!)
Still need to go about fixing minor things in sand and bedrock, and find a way to get a custom minecraft logo/splashes in there..
awesome texture pack, like it a bit more than lb photo relism but i like lb more because when using this one it gave me a lag fest in my comp, CPU usage moved on to 100% and PF usage moved onto 2 GB, good texture pack but 256 lagged on me a lot, can you downscale it and make a 128x version?
Hmm, I'll think about adding a 128x128 version at one point.
Also, I've updated (somewhat) to Beta 1.6, just need to add some shrubs :smile.gif:

Beta 1.3, here I come!
Please note that the bedframe is tacked-on from bumpmaftn's pack.

Shameless advertising, no?
Also, this is nice.
