I decided that I wanted to make a texture pack for the girls playing minecraft that don't want a texture pack that yells "I love pink, rainbows, and hello kitty!" I wanted to make it slightly modern, and colors that are easy to look at for long periods of time, and something that looked like a natural environment.
Although some things are still default, I decided it was ready enough to share with everyone. If you decide to use it, PLEASE give me some sort of feedback on what you like, and what you think I should change.
Sorry, the previous update had the saplings in the wrong place, causing them to not appear in game. I also saw a few rogue lines in the doors and minecart tracks. This has been fixed and the link is updated. Sorry for the inconvenience. Again.
What's new in this update?
-Saplings for the different kinds of trees
-Button minecart tracks
-Booster minecart tracks
-New sand texture
-New clay texture
-New gravel texture
-Updated crafting bench
-Updated stove and dispenser
Still to be updated
-Items/icons
-Nether blocks
-Nether mobs
-paintings
-Ideas for chests? (Still not happy with them)
ENJOY
Blocks:
Terrain:
The Dollhouse:
Mobs
Nakey sheep
Creeper, master of deception. Looks nice and inviting, until you get too close......
paintings:
And let me explain these a little. They're actually my pixel art version of Picasso's animal prints. I was gonna add the originals for you to see what it looked like, but I decided not to. If you wanna see what I'm recreating, just google Picasso's penguin, squirrel, or camel.
GUI of main inventory. The rest of them are small variations of the same theme.
I think it looks cute! The pastel colors keep it easy on the eyes despite being very pink.
Since you turned the smooth stone into a wallpapery looking block from what I can tell, I think you should go a more stylized route for the ores as well. Perhaps you can put a single gem in the middle of them.
The grey and yellow bricks (I assume they are the metal blocks?) stand out a bit because of the really dark lines on them. I would make those a little lighter, and also put a highlight along the top of the bricks, just like you've done with the cobblestone.
On the obsidian, I would put the light streak a little higher up, so it's not dead-center. Also, maybe a one pixel line in the streak that is much lighter, to make it shinier. I also think it might look better with highlighted edges.
I'm not liking the bedrock very much, it's very gradienty. Maybe you could make it look more like stone?
Anyway, I like your closet idea for the paintings!
>.< this is exactly what i've been looking for for minecraft. >.< please finish and while your at it can you do cute stuff for the armor and animals. Like little white dairy cows, and pale pink pigs with bows. I really hope you finish it. >.< also can you do something with the UI for the chest, stove, and inventory. I'd love to see something with flowers. This really good i'll be watching to see if you finish it.

I really appreciate these criticisms. I definitely see what you mean. As for the ores, I know they need to change. They were one of the first blocks made and really don't fit. As for the metals. I actually like the iron. I think if used as an accent like in the dollhouse, it really modernizes the theme without being out of place..but the matching gold will change.
I'm also making a change to the double chest. I guess i'm just not good at this whole cadinet thing..but something just seems off.
Thanks for the support everyone. Keep looking out for an update, probably this weekend...if my son permits haha.
New update! I hope you guys can give me some good advice on how to make it better! I tried to work on the criticisms I got from the first post, so let me know if the changes were what y'all wanted.
Thanks!
I am liking the changes, though i think with the lapis luzi block i wonder if you should go with a light blue to match your pastel theme along with the gold block a more pastel yellow. http://www.discountdecorating.com/ddoec ... 7976_2.jpg something like this yellow.Perhaps a shade lighter lining ^ ^.
I don't really know what is what on the picture if you can sort of make a chart. ^ ^ would you be considering changing some of the cotton to a wallpaper theme. You know they have a nice design in them to offset some of the solids in the house. Also another thought for different type of wood or wall siding for the house change the birch trees and pine trees texture to something like a roof tile or siding. Maybe a pastel pink, purple, or blue what evercolor you think would be nice.
Really love the art work you've done, ^ ^ and i really really love the cow lol. I have already named it Clarabell. Those closets look very chic too i like those a lot. Hmmm i think your ladders should be white, not the brown. That way you could use them for more decor. Like white garden lattices on the side of the house. Or if your doll house wanted a gazebo in the yard. Lol or a pool ladder.
I'm really liking the change on the ores. I like the pebbled effect you gave them. Also, the paintings are awesome. Can't wait to see what you do with the rest of the mobs.
Wow, this looks really good so far! The textures are very smooth for a 16x16 pack and the colors mesh well together, even the pink. I think I'll use this as my default for a while, it looks great (I am a dude btw, lol).
I'm glad you guys like the texture pack. I was wondering if, while you were playing, you came up with any ideas I could use for the other paintings? Anything you guys think would go well?

Curse PremiumVery original idea and good artistry work.

The gold block could use some work, though. Looking forward to seeing the final product!
Thanks!
