I made a new texture pack, and it's still under testing, that uses an special codification on the terrain.png to include many effects that won't need any special modifications or patching.
The texture pack itself is 512px, but the image looks like it is 16px. You'll also notice that looking at it under any normal image programs it'll looks blurry, bugged and screwed up.
Both of these are caused by the new format that I'm developing that allows extreme compression and advanced instructions embed inside the terrain.png for Minecraft to use: advPNG.
advPNG is an advanced attempt at texture pack modding. It includes many features - and will include much more as I further develop it - such as:
- Bump Mapping
- Parallax Mapping
-Dynamic Ambient Occlusion
- Mipmapping
- DoF
- And in the future, more to come.
Before you ask where the download is, read carefully:
advPNG and Inacio's Texture Pack are in test phase. The format is extremely ambitious, and for that it might show problems and in some cases not work at all. Since it is a 512px under a very innovative format, under some computers Minecraft just can't render it all right, and downscales everything. Again, this might not work on your computer, please post bug reports and screenshots if it does not.
First try at embed shading, DoF and lighthing, still using notch's textures
Another shot showing lighting, still notch's textures, no bump
First work on my textures, looked a lot like Doku's back then when it was 16px. Looks shitty because I took it with my phone, it wouldn't take screenshots back then, haha.
Final shot. Textures, effects, everything working.
This obviously isn't going to work. If it does, you'd need some sort of patcher, installing a texture pack with a bunch of blurred blocks won't do anything other than look bad.
So until I see a video + patcher, I'm going to assume this is just a troll attempt.
