Hello everyone, excuse my extreme noobiness but I'm trying to use a texture pack (viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=174411) but I can't open .rar files. So is there a way to make this texture pack from a .rar to a .zip like most Texture Packs I've come across on these forums? If there is a way I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. :biggrin.gif:
I don't want to sound like that "one guy", but you definitely need to install win-rar :biggrin.gif: I'm not sure I can supply links, but google "win-rar" and download from rarlab. It's a very nice program and it's FREE!!!

Yeah I tried that but I couldn't get it to work sadly. :sad.gif: That's why I'm trying to see if I can change it to a .zip, or that someone could change it to a .zip for me.
Yep it exists actually on Mac OS X. Right Click > Compact. But unfortunately that doesn't seem to work. The archive is fine but give an unknown texture pack...
I know on my computer, all I have to do is rename it and it literally works perfectly fine.
However, I MAY have something running on my PC that automatically fixes the problems for me when I do that... it's tough to remember. I've done a lot of crazy things with this PC...
I've got an important update: I figured out how to make it a .zip but now it gives me this message when I try to open it "Unable to unarchive "Majorcraft Texture Pack.zip" into "Documents" (Error 1-Operation not permitted.)"

Just right-click the folder of whatever you want zipped, and select Send To [zipped (compressed) folder]. It will zip itself very nicely :biggrin.gif:

Unfortunately there is no such thing, as far as I know, like this on Mac.
Oh dear, I don't know Macs.
Sorry.
