Unzip Jolicraft. Check your terrain.png, the pumpkin alt texture is down at the bottom. Copy and paste that texture over the current pumpkin texture. Zip that back up again and skadoosh.
Lol! I'm slightly confused by your hatred towards sidegrass.. your like, the opposite to everybody in the BetterGrass thread :tongue.gif:
Just tried the lily pads out, thanks for that :smile.gif: Also, I just went to the Nether for the first time with your texture pack. I'm not sure the lava really suits the netherrack (or is it the netherrack doesn't suit the lava?) but I really really like the textures and general colours of all the blocks there :biggrin.gif:
I actually really like the bettergrass mod. Let me explain. I like sidegrass in many texture packs. Sometimes it works and looks great for the type of dirt they've created. But Jolicraft dirt is different. It's firm and scoopable. The grass is a thin layer on top of the dirt, so sidegrass makes no sense as it either makes the grass layer feel thicker than I want or it makes the thin grass all droopy. Think of my dirt like cake with icing on top, so when you scoop through it the grass doesn't instantly hang down the side, it stays firm. And the grass overhangs just a tiny bit to cast a slight shadow down the side of the dirt. It's that crisp edge that makes Jolicraft dirt different from other dirt. It's not that I'm against sidegrass in general, just sidegrass in Jolicraft.

just got moved into my new apartment ,and thought id stop by as usall and say ,i love the lightstone, amazing,it goes well with the pack. Also i went to the nether for the first time and it was amazing compared to the other packs. Ive been thinking about releasing my 3 contest pictures ,i finished them the day the contest started , oddly enough this hole contest has shown me a taste of being a true artist, working on something so hard and then becoming nervous about releasing your work to the world to view. lol ,not to be deep or anything :tongue.gif: .So ,here are my 3 for all
Love your entries, especially the art shrine. Good show.

Hi, first of all I want to say how much a love this texture pack. For me, this is what my "default" Minecraft setting is. Even my friends who insist on playing with 64x64 or 128x128 textures are impressed with your work.
I have a slight problem, though. I'm playing on a 24 inch widescreen monitor, and whenever I expand the game window to fill up my screen, the aiming reticule gets this extra line on the right side of it:
Since it's not showing an entire pixel, I believe that's a problem with the game, and not specific to the gui. Do other texture packs cause this problem for you?

Would this be an example of over-photoshopping or is it acceptable?
No this is perfect. Great entry!

André Jolicoeur! Help!
Since this is a 16x16 texture pack, I installed it as it should be: Placed in the texture packs file!
But, when I try using it I get a random blackscreen! What the flippin' 'ell?
Also, I think all 16x16 texture packs are doing that now! I tried using Xaiwaker and the Painterly Pack and this happened too! The painterly.net website says Notch screwed it up somehow in the coding, and the texture packs aren't working properly, but, my 32x32 pack is working just fine*!
Help?
*I used the HD fix, so is it somehow connected?
Yes if you install a 32x32 pack using the HD fix then your 16x16 packs won't work anymore. Check out my instructions in my post and use the MCPatcher program I mentioned. That will fix your problem.

Best 16x16 (or just ANY) pack imo! You, sir, are an artist!
Yes there is alternate textures (including the pumpkin) in terrain.png. Open that up in your favorite image editor and help yourself to replacing any textures with their alts. Sorry I can't provide more instructions than that, if you need more help start googling.
2.3 Update DOWNLOAD
- New sandstone block
- new chicken skin (a crow)
- wildgrass lily pad
- added alternates for lapis blocks
- alternate workbench texture (for folks who use them as floors, or just don't like the tools on top)
- new lightstone texture
- changed full-grown grain texture a bit
- new birch bark texture (old one is available as an alt)
What do I have to do to get the alternative pumpkin and lilypad textures in?

Abandoning this account....I used to spend way too much time trolling here....If you see a user around named yyujimgirl445, that's me...until then peace.
What do I have to do to get the alternative pumpkin and lilypad textures in?
Refer to the two posts above for help with the pumpkin, as for the lily pads, you need to have the Wildgrass mod installed and then "plant" red / yellow flowers in water.
Could you use colours for the HUD other than white? It makes it so I'm not sure what health is at, or which quickbar item I've got selected when working around snow.
edit: also, if you're gonna make the chickens crows, you should change all the textures involving feathers black. (:
LOVE THESE! And that skin pic... you clever monkey you.
:happy.gif: Thanks! Not as great as some of the other stuff on here. I gave it my best though and never really thought I stood much of a chance from the start, lol.
There's quite a pit of competition in this thread. What are you going to do with all these awesome photos? It would be cool to make your own pack site like painterly did (it would be cool to do the texture chooser like they have for all those lovely alt textures) and use the pictures as propaganda... er... I mean advertisement.
I love your texture pack so much. :smile.gif: It just fits everything so well in ways that are hard to describe. I really really love your bed and brick textures.. Now if only clay would form near my house. :sad.gif: I especially loved the paintings. :smile.gif: I looked at your art shop and your pictures are SO beautiful. I wish I had the money to go out and buy your art, but sadly I haven't got the money to buy any art, because I have no job. 'tis the issue of being in highschool. By the way, my favorite thing out of everything in the pack, is looking around and noticing all of the discreetly placed spiral designs. :smile.gif: They're everywhere!
I do have a bit of an issue. I can't seem to get the tall grass to install right. I installed it, then installed the texture pack, and nothing happened with the grass, it was just the normal texture in your pack, no tall grass. So then I reinstalled it, which broke the texture in many ways except for the water and grass, but still no tall grass. Then I repatched it, and all was well, but still no tall grass. :sad.gif: I dunno what I'm doing wrong.
Hi Andre! (Sorry wasn't sure whether to call you Andre or Mr. Jolicoeur. :biggrin.gif:) I was wondering, even though I won't win the competition, is there a way of buying prints of your stuff anyway? I saw Structured Living and Starflood and fell in love with them - I have to have copies. :biggrin.gif:
On a more relevant note, I adore the texture pack - keep up the BRILLIANT work, this is the only pack I use nowadays (albeit with WildGrass).
What do I have to do to get the alternative pumpkin and lilypad textures in?
I just added some brief instructions on how to swap textures in my main post. And the lilypads are part of the WildGrass mod that I mentioned in my "advanced" instructions. Take a look there and give it a shot.

Great texturepack, but I have a begging request:

Yes, I think the health & armor needs to be on my to-do list. And the feathers. Just let me make sure I 100% love the crows before I make the global change. Stay tuned.

I think I'm going to make a nice gallery or something. And I'd LOVE to have a texture pack customizer. I just have no idea how to do that. I'm pretty technically inclined but I tried to learn how and I just gave up. So if you know anyone, or if anyone who's reading this knows anyone who knows how to make a customizer, point them to me. (I might even pay). :smile.gif:

Many thanks! You're too kind. As for your issue, the tall grass isn't built into Minecraft. Check out the BetterGrass mod I mentioned in my advanced instructions in my main post to get the tall grass working.

Funny you should ask. The reason I set the deadline for the contest for this friday was because I wanted this week to get some prints for sale on my site. I had prints for sale on my site, but for some reason when I posted Jolicraft my site traffic went up tenfold and I sold out in a few days :tongue.gif:. But stay tuned for an announcement soon, it's at the top of my to-do list.

What would be awesome is if you put your artwork out as decals too. That way I could post one or two on my guitar(s). The music I like to play just fits so perfectly with your style, it's odd.
I've got submissions coming, but I've also got weird technical problems w/ Minecraft not wanting to save pictures and randomly closing, at least on my laptop. My desktop, however, likes to shrink everything or something b/c it gives an extra border of pixels or something & I can see 'the grid' everywhere.

I use YouPorn for background music while doing art, totally understandable.

One request for an alternate texture -- a light wood option for the wood planks, for better contrast with the dark raw logs when building primarily-wood structures. Sometimes planks and logs kind of blur together, since they're so similarly colored.
Unzip Jolicraft. Check your terrain.png, the pumpkin alt texture is down at the bottom. Copy and paste that texture over the current pumpkin texture. Zip that back up again and skadoosh.

A house I made to show off as many different block types as I could while still managing to look semi-good.
A little river

What's wrong with the current lava?
Never said anything was wrong with it, brohemoth. I just disliked it, brotato, and thus I tweaked it to suit my taste, bronana.
