This is a weird request, but any plans on making a PBR addition to the base texture pack so that textures have a little bit of depth. I've attached an image to show what I mean although that one is a little more aggressive than what I mean. You can also see it in the beginning of this video . Either way this is one of the best texture packs and a can't wait for new updates.
Nope! That's a ton of work. I WISH I had the time to do that, it looks amazing, but that would only be possible if there were two of me
Thanks Joliceur, not only for creating this wonderful pack but keeping it updated through all the years. Looking forward to 1.17; Jolicraft is one of the essentials I wait on before moving to a new patch.
Albeit, I've made a lot of small modifications to your pack to suit my own needs. I've got a few technical questions:
1) What program do you use to create the textures?
2) In many parts of your textures, on flat surfaces (i.e. places that don't have fine details e.g. wool, stone, interior of wood planks, etc), there's a lot of small variance in shading. Do you use a tool to achieve this effect or is it done by hand?
I ask this because when I make my own textures, I can't get the shading to look right and it always comes out as overly cartoonish or low-resolution compared to yours. An apt comparison might be the difference between Legend of Zelda 1 and 3 graphics. I end up relying on mix-and-matching parts and colorization tools instead. Any insight would be appreciated.
1. Photoshop, but honestly any digital painting program would do. GIMP and Krita are great free alternatives. It's not the program that makes a good texture, it's the method.
2. I've done a few tutorials. I made some texture painting tutorials back in the day. They're outdated from a technical standpoint but there are some good tips for painting textures (link https://www.youtube.com/user/doodlemachineDOTcom).

I have a NEW art channel and I've done a few Minecraft videos, with more on the way (including a basic "how to paint pixel textures" video!). Subscribe so you don't miss it!
Hey Everyone. Just a quick update to let you know that thanks to a great community member (props to XenonZed), Jolicraft was just updated with some quality-of-life improvements:
ATTENTION JOLICRAFTERS! The 1.17 update has dropped, and Jolicraft is ready to join you on your journey through the magical new CAVES & CLIFFS that await you.
This has been a LONG time in the making, and I'm super excited to finally be able to share it with you. It's the same Jolicraft charm that you love, but with hand-drawn HD blocks, mobs, items... EVERYTHING!
PLUS, if you buy the HD version, you'll get Classic 16x Jolicraft as part of the download, which you can toggle in the Resource Packs settings.
Java users - SIT TIGHT! A Java version will be coming eventually, soon enough, but not super soon. It's going to be a lot of work to port it to Java, and I need a break for a bit (with the C&C update and launching HD I've earned a bit of a vacation!). I'll let you know when I have some Java Jolicraft HD goodness to share.
Also, I should mention, that I will ALWAYS give regular old 16x Jolicraft priority. I made the HD version because I know many folks like HD packs (and I like to make money from those people!), and I had a lot of fun making it, but I personally only use 16x packs because they fit the Minecraft vibe way better. Classic 16x Jolicraft will always be my first love.
Hello. I just bought your pack but i have an issue on nintendo switch the game crash few second after my world loaded. It work on x16 but crash on x128... any idea why it happen?

Oh dear. I'm not sure because I don't have a switch. Microsoft checks the content on all devices, so it should work in some capacity. Can you try the 16x version and let me know if that works? You can access the 16x version by disabling the pack (reload main menu with vanilla textures), and then enable Jolicraft but make sure you click the little gear option and select the 16x version. If the 16x version works, we'll know it's not a problem with compatibility, in which case I'll have to do some tests to identify the problem.

From a quick google search, it looks like the Switch version of the game doesn't actually support 128x textures. This is because there's not enough RAM on the system to load them. You'll have to make a version downscaled to 64x for these users.

Yup that's the culprit! I found a way to do an easy 128 to 64x convert. It actually looks really good! I'm going to push this as an update for the pack asap. Unfortunately Microsoft is quite slow with their content review and testing process, so it'll probably be about a month before it goes live (assuming it passes certification).
Switch users, sit tight! And keep in mind you can still use the 16x version in the meantime (click the little gear icon when you enable the pack in your settings to give you the option to switch to 16x).
Im having the exactly same isssue on my Switch, it loads the world and crashes the game.
I've released an update that will be live tomorrow that will give you the option to select '64x' resolution for the HD pack, which should work much better on mid/low end devices (and it's been validated by Microsoft for use on the switch). After tomorrow if you're still having problems let me know!
But. PureBDcraft on the switch works when using 128x128. So I don't know where you read that the switch didn't support textures in this resolution
I don't have a switch so I can't test it, but when I search I find lots of people having problems with 128x PureBDcraft on the Switch, and they suggest that switching to 64x solved their problems. If it's possible for me to get the 128x version working on the Switch that'd definitely be preferred, I'll consider getting a Switch just so I can troubleshoot this if that's the case.
The 64x version works but I still want to experience the full pack in the 128x resolution on Bedrock but it's ok. I still can't get over that the VanillaBDCraft and the PureBDCraft packs worked for me, no crashes at all.
Also, don't buy a switch as there isn't a way to get custom texture packs on the device and if it crashes it doesn't give you any info about the crash at all.
I have read that it's a bug and not incompatibility issue and from what I heard it's been happening ever since the 1.16 update.
Hey Andre, I noticed that the title screen of Minecraft has some extra white pixels around the M. I know this is a little nitpicky, but wanted to point it out to you. Love the pack as always!

Hi Andre, I love the Jolicraft HD Pack. And your Jolicraft HD Pack is also the reason why I started with Minecraft. Unfortunately our realm changed from Bedrock to Java and I found out that the HD pack is not yet available for Java. Do you know how long it will take until you can release the HD Pack for Java?
I understand that the conversion effort is very high and it will take some time. Nevertheless, I am already looking forward to playing in the beautiful Jolicraft world in HD again.
Thank you very much and keep up the good work.

I hope regular old Jolicraft is good enough!
Glad you've stuck around. My intention is to keep Jolicraft alive FOREVER, so come back any time
