It was a hard choice again, but this was an awesome entry Domino. Love how the composition and DoF helps tell the story of the shot (that 'oh ****' moment that you notice an enemy upon you). It's also great for the contest's theme.
Thought I'd give it a go. This is my first time at doing anything like this, so it's not that great. This was the best spot I could find, which isn't terrific but it's ok.
I used "jolicraft contest" as the seed and i found this amazing island with trees and pools of water. Had a nice secluded homey feeling. This might be my new world haha.
Very basic panorama this time around. Didn't feel like doing any effects to it since it looked great already.
edit: i love how people are using depth of field. It actually feels like you're a nature photographer capturing certain parts of the scenery. I guess my photogrpahy rubs off on my gaming work too =)
If you use the aether texture you may of noticed that when an egg is incubating it doesn't show the progress bar on the side of the incubation gui; i didnt check if anyone else noticed this but I thought I should say none the less.
Is there any special procedure to add the Aether textures to my jolicraft file? D:
I'm quite inept at this and would appreciate a little step-by-step if someone has the time for me <3

Open the jolicraft.zip file (right click > open with > winrar) and place the aether folders in there. The one joli posted.
The folder directories should look like this before dropping them in
aether > blocks/gui. Both the blocks and gui folders should be in the aether folder next to eachother.
then just place that aether folder into the zip. when you load minecraft, select jolicraft and go to the aether, the textures will be changed.

okay, so I've kept the blocks/gui folders in the aether folder, and then put that aether folder into the jolicraft zip file...and it's not registering the new block textures <___> hmm.
I am running this on a mac, but there's really nothing different between platforms is there, for this procedure anyways, is there? It's just putting another folder in....
I unpacked the zip file, tossed the aether folder in and then rezipped the files.
@ [email protected] and it didn't work...
nevermind I fenangled a way through this!
figured it xD
Just wanted to pop in and say thanks to Andre since Jolicraft is probably the reason I bought minecraft, and definitely why I decided to make a texture pack of my own.
Came runner up at another screenshot comp for Jolicraft, might as well have another go! These are certainly fun.
I suggest PicturePush, best image hosting site for Hi-Res images, you can also upload without an account. I tried imgur and yeah, the interface is great and easy to use but it turns out blurry and lighter than it originally was. That's a no no for me.
Not exactly sure if this level of photoshopping is allowed, but this is more or less of my 'style' but I'll tone it down for future submissions if needed.
I was awoken suddenly from my weird dream by the loud sound of close thunder only to see through my still sleepy eyes the flash of lightning hit the nearby water.
For some reason I was also in a new part of this land, soaking wet, with no idea how I got here; maybe I was still tired or effected from that dream. Anyway time to head onwards

I also loved Benten's entry, and Not_a_frog's mushroom shot.
Can't wait to see what day 3 holds! This is too fun.
I think it's better thank OK. Great entry!
Of course!

Then my work is done :smile.gif:.
I noticed that right after I posted this, it's weird that stuff like that happens a lot to me.
