· Changed default wolf texture (lighter & browner)
· Added alternate black wolf
· Added alternate PUG wolf! :tongue.gif:
There. Now I don't want to hear any more complaining about the wolves or I'll turn this damn thread around and drive right back home.
Oh my gawd. That pug. ME WANTZ EET!!!
Also, I made an alternate half step highly based on Doku's new Sexy one. It's not perfect, but I'll post it here to see if you guys can do anything with it.
I tried to get accurate colors to this pack, by the way
It's at the bottom of this thread viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=224969&start=750
When I implent the alternate textures, this bug happens I use MSPaint, anyone knows how to fix this?
You are saving the terrain.png image without transparencies. You need to retain the transparency when you edit the file to prevent the issue you are having.

Thank you, but how do I save the transparency? ( I use MSPaint)
So everyone wishing they could have default wolves while using this texture pack knows they can just delete the jolicraft texture from the pack's mob folder, right? Or replace it with one from painterly or whatever? Riiiight? *wink wink nudge nudge*
Very nice, definitely the best one I've found so far
Thanks for also posting the HD fix to use with water; I've been so sick of being unable to find any squids due to the dense, dark water of vanilla Minecraft.
So I play minecraft on a massive gaming PC with a 32 inch flatscreen as my monitor. I've always used HD texture packs for no reason other than because 16bit packs look terrible on such a large resolution.
I want to express to you how much your pack means to me when I say that it is the ONLY 16 bit pack that I've ever consistently played with my gaming rig. Now I'm having trouble switching back. I love it that much.
Also, I said this a while ago, but I do intend on purchasing some of your fine art not only as a way to say 'thank you', but also because I just really dig your art. Especially anything with tentacles. My wife loves the tentacles. That sounds weird. But who cares! ART!
I get paid this coming friday, and intend on grabbing at least two prints from you. I shall frame them, hang them, then show you pictures of other people enjoying your work.
LOVE THIS. Why didn't you submit anything to my contest? Love the perspective of the tundra disappearing into the foggy light around the sun. Ty for this coolness.
haha, I was practically swimming in projects, tests, and hw assignments at the time of competition so I never had time to enter it. You should totally hold another similar one so I can win one of your posters ;D
I wanna get my hands on at least 3 of those damn prints, but 37$ is a bit too much for my rapidly shrinking wallet. Any plans on having another sale soon :P?
E: btw, mind if I ask you a few questions about your job as an artist?
How many prints do you usually draw/ publish every month? How many sales do you get every week/ month?
Have you ever sold one of your original prints for $500+? What program do you use (i feel like I've asked you this before) and I'm guessing you have a tablet? What kind :P?
This pack is awesome, and it will be even more awesome when it has a customizer.
I'm pretty sure you have a very talented coder working on it :wink.gif:

Nice! Happy to hear it. I also play on a 1080p+ gaming rig, but hi res textures never seemed to fit with the style of Minecraft as a game. It's the purposefully archaic nature of the graphics & gameplay that drew me to Minecraft in the first place. It's like the Star Wars Special Editions, when you have one scene with stop motion puppets and suddenly a computer animated character walks past. It's effects from 2 different time periods mashed together. It's some sort of modernized mishmashed monster, and it just feels wrong. But that's just me. I'm sort of a retro purist. I don't mind that some folks add bump mapping & shaders. I'm sure those same folks would rather play Yars' Revenge in the CryEngine3. For me, the fewer pixels needed the better :tongue.gif:

thanks for the ''lighter wood alt'' Andre :biggrin.gif:
You're very welcome. I actually like the lighter wood now that I've tried it. I'm going to leave it active in my game for now. I think I'll have to do a bookcase to match.

For all you jolicraft lovers, yes, i wish for a really darn CUTE woof woof too. Here: this is what I found, have some inspiration.
Unfortunately those are all 32x32, so they're not compatible with jolicraft. They're certainly cool though, I like the variety.

Don't use MS Paint. I suggest using Paint.NET or GIMP - both free and serve your needs.
I once had a client say something to the effect of "Thanks for the sample, but I don't have adobe on my computer, can you send the file as something I can open like Wordperfect or MS Paint". I stopped responding to her emails.

The sale is actually still on, although there's only a handful of misc prints left. Check it here: http://www.andrejolicoeur.com/sale.html
These days I don't paint nearly as much as I'd like, I'm swamped with projects (mostly vector illustrations) and we're in the process of moving so I'm hesitant to start elaborate paintings only to have to tear down my studio within a month. I'm hoping to be back at painting full-force once I get settled in my new house. And I don't sell very many prints, I only recently got my store up & running and I haven't properly promoted it yet. Soon! As for programs, I do my vector art in Adobe Illustrator (about 80% of the digital art I do is there), and for pixel & raster art I use Photoshop. I have the entire CS4 suite. I also animate in flash, audio editing in SoundBooth, build websites in Dreamweaver & Fireworks, and dabble in InDesign, Premiere, & AfterEffects when needed. But I spend most of my time in Illustrator. And I do indeed have a tablet. I've gone through many over the years. I used to buy expensive ones, like the wacom intuos. But eventually I stopped caring about the quality of the tablet and these days I buy cheap ones. My current tablet is the Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch (I have a review of it on my blog). It's not the quality of the tablet, but the quality of your skill. Trust me, I know people who spend thousands on their art rig but can't draw hands.

I'm very interested in procuring a larger print than you have available. Any chances of ever making bigger ones? Like poster sizes?
Yes! My next task for the prints is to do a limited edition run of Giclée prints of all my paintings that have sold. I'd love to have larger prints for some of my larger paintings. I wouldn't go beyond 1:1, but I have several paintings that are pretty much poster sized as they are. So sorry, no eta, but stay tuned to my blog and hopefully sooner than later I'll have some bigger fancier prints up.
When you said you were going to make a pug version, I didn't think it would work out well with the shape of the wolf model. But you totally nailed it and they look adorable!
