Quick question - in particles.png, what are the two bottom water-drop looking thingys? I can't figure out what they're for... Anyone?
I don't think they are officially in use so there is no need to update it at this point in time. The only new particle in use (now) is the heart particle. Am I right in thinking the new update is around the corner? :smile.gif:
Lilyo: It is not the water the wolves shake off otherwise it wouldn't work with Jolicraft 2.6 as it is missing in that version.
Jolicraft doesn't have the new heart either... So tell me, where is the water the wolf shakes off if it isn't those. It's not the splash or bubble particles.
Mod edit: User warned for not agreeing.
I know Jolicraft is missing the heart particle - I am the one that first asked about it to Jolicoeur. The wolf uses the splash particles. The same ones that are used by the boat when it is moving etc. My point was if it didn't use the old water/splash particles then when the wolves shook off water currently in Jolicraft 2.6 you would see nothing.
Ever since I downloaded this, I've been hooked! It injects a very healthy and much needed dose of whimsy in to the visuals of the game. :smile.gif: Keep up the good work!

You may know more, but that's only because I don't know enough to know what I don't know.
Most incredible pack in the history of ever.
Jolicraft adds so much more to the game. It creates a whole new feeling, and intensifies the nostalgia so much more.
You sir, deserve the internet.
Bravo.

Update 2.7 DOWNLOAD
· added hearts & droplet thingys (I'll figure out what they do later) to particles
· touched up main logo
· added the following alts: mossy cobblestone & lightstone (thanks to SpinBuilder for his ideas), green checker bed alt, frogs for lilypads, light wood texture
· made terrain logo smaller
· small touchups to several textures
is there a way to donate for this awsome pack (and investments in hope you get motivated to make a 32x32 or 64x64 pack) my 500+ FPS makes me think i can handle a bit higher resolution ;p
absolutly love the textures thank you for making these
You know, I totally don't want any donations. I made jolicraft for all of us, just having you be a part of it is payment enough. But if you do have $ that are burning a hole in your pocket, I'd suggest something like this.

Jolicraft 2 was good too though.
I'm genuinely surprised that some fell for it. And I'm genuinely pleasantly surprised at the hilarious comments. Reading through the past few days is some quality literature, let me tell you.

Does anyone know of a good way to switch to alternate textures? I tried to select just the texture to move it, but i always get little bits of stuff around the edges
I'm really hoping that someday I can give you folks a texture pack switcher. But it's a long process. In the meantime, just make sure you're using a good program. I use photoshop. Something like Paint.net or GIMP works for many folks (and are free). Sorry, that's all the help I can give for now.

This pack is awesome :tongue.gif:
LOVE THIS. Why didn't you submit anything to my contest? Love the perspective of the tundra disappearing into the foggy light around the sun. Ty for this coolness.

For the photo gallery, what effect did you use (for the outlines)? Sorry for off topic, just wanted to know! :tongue.gif:
What, the white outline and the drop shadow around the photos? I just put a white square behind the photo, merged the layers, then applied a drop shadow layer filter in photoshop. Nothing fancy.

Hey all you joli folks. When making a town, house or base pretty, you don't always want to use torches. I mean, come on? What are we, cavemen. Plus, torches are a fire hazard. "Oh noez! Little jimmy burnt his head off!!!!!1!one!1"
That's where glowstone comes in. However, if you know anything about lightstone, you know that it's very roflz. That's why I set out to obtain an alternative to this ugliness. So I ventured over the precarious mountains, through the creeper filled caves, and the mysterious ruins of herobrine to capture a magical fairy that glows brightly. After some mass breeding, I captured these ******* fairies into glass containers, which looked nice with the other things in the jolicraft world. The end result is this
EDIT:You can see it ingame with video.
A fairy in a glass container. Now you can light your homes up with fairy cruelty!!!
Just download the file, Open it in any image editor but paint, along with your terrain.png, copy the fairy in a glass, and paste it on top of the glowstone. Now just save the terrain.png, and put it into your jolicraft.zip.
And yes, This is a giant wall of text for such a tiny thing. blame bordom.
I approve so much of this pitch that I added it as an official alt. And your cobblestone was a great idea, I totally forgot that if I made an alternate cobblestone I should add a mossy version. TY sir.

My favourite texture pack!
It's so beautiful, creative, simple, innovative and only in 16x :ohmy.gif:
I wish I could apply a 16x filter to my real life. The world would be much simpler.

I wanted to get the new version until I saw the wolves D: YOU MADE THEM NOT BE CUTE, YOU MONSTER. Please make them cuter :biggrin.gif:
Really? They're not cute? I tried to go for a shaggy dog cuteness. I sort of thought they were scrawny and buck toothed, almost cartoony like Wile E. Coyote. But if you need more cute, I did say I might make a Pug alt at some point :wink.gif:

Hey, Andre.
Whilst we are right at the start of an update and you have dealt with the new blocks, could you work on some mod textures? I use http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1032&t=120185 but the textures sometimes conflict horribly with Jolicraft. Although I can do without the textures, it would be beneficial to me and others, and an interesting project for you.
one of those mods adds biomes to other blocks like stone and sand, which you could supply customs for.
Sorrrrrrrrrry guys, no mod support planned. Well, I shouldn't say that. Let me put it this way. If a mod comes along that I decide to use in my own game, I'll update the pack to support it. That's why WildGrass is supported, cuz I loves it. None of those mods really appealed to me, so you may have to do some frankenstein work to get a compatible jolicraft :wink.gif:. But the Aether does look cool, when it's out I'll try it.

I think you should put all the alt block textures in a separate folder. Would be easier to just take that alt texture and drop it into PS or w/e. The more alt textures that get added to the png, the more it feels crowded. It's also kind of annoying to keep duplicating the terrain.png just to get one texture.
I'm really digging Joli's wolves, personally. They remind me of one of my favorite short films of 2010, Out of a Forest. While the wolf in it is a villain, it still looked really cool. http://vimeo.com/9335203
im having trouble keeping the transparency while choosing alts. also, i cant tell which blocks on the texture file are used in game and which aren't... sigh i love this pack even though the hd texturepack loader crashes my game so i cant use your sweet custom water... cant play without it! its perfect

Dunno about your transparency problem without knowing what software you're doing it with, but telling which blocks are used in-game is as easy as comparing it to the default terrain.png.
Came by to say I absolutely love this texture pack! It's so cute that I'm always in awe because of how smooth everything looks. I see myself sticking with this for a while now. Great work and thanks for sharing!
how exactly can i switch the to the alts ,of pumpkins, cobblestone and moss stone? I figured out how to do it with the zombies,i just deleted the zombie that didnt say alt,but no idea how to do this with stone and pumpkin.

You have to load the terrain.png into an image editor (i use photoshop), duplicate the image, then delete everything around the block you want and just drag the new block over the old one.

EDIT: I stand corrected.
