the patcher you should be using is Xau's Patcher. Its optional. But heres how to use it, you download it from the forums the Xau's patcher, it will be called MCpatcher when you have downloaded it. Then you browse for your texture pack you wish to patch (3rd row, the first 2 rows you do not need to modify). It will also auto detect the resolution which is 16x16. Then make sure all boxes are ticked at the bottom. Then click Patch. Then click Test Minecraft to test it out on your world or SMP. If you do not like it, which I hope won't happen >< then, click unpatch.
If you do not want to do the HD texture fix, then this part is for you. Just drag and drop into your Texture Pack folder in .minecraft. Then, all you need to do is start Minecraft as usual and click on Mods and Texture Packs, then select Jolicraft.
Hope this helps ^^
the HD texture fix may sound complicated, but its actually very easy and its worth it! the water and lava looks awesome ^^
This texture pack is absolutely fantastic, I have been a long time player of Minecraft but have never changed my textures until I found Jolicraft.
In all honesty I came to the forum due to the fact a friend of mine, (we both are Art fanatics) told me that there was a link to your sale on her so that brought me; absolutely fell in love with the art-work then soon after actually took a chance with the texture-pack and was completely blown away.
This brought life to my seemingly lifeless town. Thanks!
I made a jolicraft pack for creative mode if anyone wants it. Friend and i wanted to build for a while and I changed the default textures to make it look better.
I love how this pack doesn't try to be realistic, but instead goes for an "artsy" feel. I love it!
The BetterGrass and MCPatcher support is fantastic. It makes the pack look ten times better.
Thanks so much for creating this!
You mentioned Paint.NET in the description. Is that what you used to make the textures?
Thanks. I only mentioned paint.net because it's free. I personally use illustrator & photoshop to do all my digital artworkery.

I might of just had an epiphanie (or just cause I've never used leather), but is the helm supposed to be Davy Crockett-esque?
It's supposed to be a striped bandanna. The whole leather set is supposed to look sort of like a gypsy.

Hi. Love your pack. Just wanted to ask the question, though. Is there any chance of getting a more traditional Ghast as an option?
I have 2 alternate ghast skins that i'll be releasing shortly. None of them are traditional though lol. So, maybe someday?

ah man i would love it, but i understand its probably not top priority. Ill keep an eye on the blog, and may have to order some prints! will shipping to the U.K be ok yeah?
Should be fine. Check the details at andrejolicoeur.com in the 'shop' page for more info.

I have fallen in love with this pack and your art. I can't wait for the customizer! Will you be adding old textures as options such as the lava?
Yes me too, I'm very excited to offer some customization. Hopefully it won't be too long of a wait :tongue.gif:. I'll include as many textures as I can without compromising the general coherence of the colour scheme.

New video finally... a quickie (Tweaked the doors to match the alternative windows). House is based on the design of burntcustard's on page 10.
The seed is "Glacier" that a couple people have posted screenshots for.
Love this. You choose awesome music too.

After looking at his prints, this pack needs more of his style in detail D:<
Never say never. But in this case, probably never. :tongue.gif:

liek it! but i the only thing i hate in it, that it changes the skin!
If you apply a custom skin through the minecraft site it won't change your skin.

after playing around on some smp servers ,ive noticed that a majority of people are also using the pack lol.
Ah cool. I don't play smp much so I haven't noticed. Hopefully even more folks will use it if I can get a customizer live soon.

Are you prepared to update the wolf texture?
I'm so darn prepared. I have a case of redbull in the fridge, and a pack of adult diapers beside my desk. You'll get your wolf nice & quick, don't you worry :wink.gif:

I feel you man, I am addicted to changing the look of minecraft. Good work on the pack, and good overall message.
Nice. Ty.

This is my favorite texture pack, it really is. I like the originality of the style. Its so different in the best way possible.
Another very large portion of the reason I love this pack is the artwork, and how it is original. I would expect to see this sort of art work in a museum... or preferably all over my house, especially "My Octopus" and "Flowerful Turtle."
It brings a new element to the game, and personally, I just like to look at it. I'm searching for words on how to describe why I like it so much, but I can't seem to find any. I can't wait for what you do next.
You sir, are amazing.
Keep it up. :biggrin.gif:
P.S.- I just have to say how much I like this pack, again.
Well that's just swell. You're too kind though. It's not as great as it can be. Someday it will be perfect. Just you wait and see :smile.gif:

Just heard about the Wolf update that set for 1.4 and I gotta say, I'm really excited to have my own wolf!
But yea Andre, really excited to see how you customize the wolf (If you customize him),
Keep up the amazing work! :biggrin.gif:
I'm just as excited as you are Royal. I want a pack of wolves pretty bad right about now. Btw I like your mustache.

You just place the zip in the texture pack folder, not all the files. Don't unzip it, just download the zip and place it in the folder. That should allow you to select it from the ingame menu. Good luck. :smile.gif:

andre, do you intend to add HD font to the texture pack? ^^
Not until there is better support. I have yet to find a font that doesn't change the width of all the type in the game.

Just wanted to update you kids. I know it probably seems like I've been idle, what with not having updated the pack in a few weeks. Although I haven't made any official progress because I'm swamped with various other projects, I've been keeping jolicraft on my mind and I have a handful of new ideas that should be pretty fun. So just sit tight and your patience shall be rewarded.
And of course I'm going to update when the wolf is released. No update can keep me down. This is my oath to you. Jolicraft will be full and complete and will always be there to accompany you on your adventures in minecraft. Forever.
Oh please, don't you dare apologize about not updating it constantly. Lord knows how many packs are just released then left alone until an official update. You are by far the most "customer friendly" texture artist out there and we love you to death for it.
But now that I'm done brown-nosing (however honesty it may be,) any chances on getting some hints as to what these "ideas" may be?

I can't seem to get the water texture to work, even with the MCpatcher... is there something I'm doing wrong?
I open MCpatcher and select the Jolicraft texture pack. All options are checked, then I click patch, the patcher does its thing and I click test minecraft.
I think the lava changed, but no water. It's still that super dark blue.
Any ideas??
edit::
I tried re-starting the MCpatcher and it worked fine! Best Texturepack ever!!!! :-D
I was about to go to sleep in my mini distant outpost, and right before I clicked I noticed this.
Thought it would make a lolsy screenshot.
:biggrin.gif:
Edit:
I realized this was the first time I've actually posted in the thread, so I'm going to say how much I LOVE Jolicraft.
Really. I've been using it since it came out, and although I've never voiced my support in official channels, I've recommended this pack to at least a dozen friends because I just love it so damn much! I've been going back and forth with dozens of texture packs for months, but I'm glad to say this is my "default" one. The whole artsy and stylized feel just goes so great with the game. The color pallet is just excellent, feels so good. Brings so many landscapes to life. Wildgrass is great with it. 16p is the way to go, as well. It's the true of the game. Great attention to detail and aesthetic values. Many other higher resolution packs just don't look as natural, imo. It's rare to find a decent one. I actually tried to edit the textures for the pack once, mostly the look and feel of stone and alt cobble, but after messing with it for days, I finally gave up and went back to your defaults because it was what I liked and what I was used to.
Not to mention I *love* your art in general. In Minecraft, and your real paintings. (Especially the fact that you transferred them into Minecraft! xD )I do plan on getting some prints sometime soon, and I really wish I could afford some of the originals you had left, as well.
All I have to left to say is how great of a job you've done! Myself and my friends greatly appreciate it! Keep up the hard work! Can't wait for your updates to the next... update! :biggrin.gif:

advertisement win.
I just can't get over the look of it.
But I'll still use it!
Only one problem; there's no icon for the bed, and my bed is invisible. How come?
I open MCpatcher and select the Jolicraft texture pack. All options are checked, then I click patch, the patcher does its thing and I click test minecraft.

It's amazing how you fused you artistic style with an incredible amount of details on 16x16 pixels!
One of the best packs I've seen.
