Hey Andre, I was wondering... Do you know if there is a custom texture for the color of the underwater fog & blur?
I was swimming around in SPM and noticed that the defaults really didn't live up to the pack. See what I mean?
I know what you mean. As far as I can tell there's no way to change that underwater colour. I'd love to edit that. And the sky. If anyone knows how, pretty please let me know.
Hi Andre. Everything is coming along beautifully!
In answer to the above question. Yes, it is possible to change the underwater colour and texture, but not in any dramatic way that I know of.
In the 'minecraft.jar' you will find a folder called 'misc', in this folder amongst other things is a little 16x16 texture called simply 'water'. This is the transparent texture for what you see underwater. As I say, you can only effect it slightly and the blue background is hard-coded from my limited experiments with it, but you might be able to coax more out of it for your texture pack.
Have fun, mate and as usual, I've thoroughly enjoyed looking through your OP and everyone's pics.
What resolution did you have the game in when you made this? If i had mine in 1080p i wouldn't have that fisheye feel. Did you use the default res and just take extra screenshots?

Mine is set to 1080p but that one was made from about 9 smaller screencaps then stiched together so can see more of it (very cramped place up there :smile.gif:)
Thank you for holding this contest! There are some lovely screenies so far, its so fun to see other peoples worlds/creations. Here are my submissions! :smile.gif:
Here's my submission! :biggrin.gif:
All natural pics because i made a new world for this. Andre may edit them if he chooses them.
sorry they're not the best.
Hey, Andre, amazing texture pack by the way, definately my favourite!
But I am now creating my own (link in sig), and I really don't like the standard water, but I tried animating my water, but I just don't have the skill to create fully animated water! My art skills only go that far :c.
So I was wondering, could I use your water in my texture pack? It'd fit perfectly and I'd give you full credit!
I'd appreciate it :biggrin.gif:!
Thanks anyways.
Of course, as long as you give credit & a link to the thread help yourself. I was never totally happy with that water though. I'm going to give it another shot someday.

Andre, remember; Go wild and make the alt the real sandstone block if you want
Cobble is now bricks in your pack, and thats all over the place in the wild. Water + lava = colored bricks? dungeons = colored bricks?
move over sidegrass; REALISM IS FOR WIMPS, GO WILD JOLICRAFT!

Good call. I just edited that, I'll include it in my next version. Not much of a difference, but it's a start. I really wish I could edit the sky though. That would just give us texture pack creators as much control over the entire game's colour scheme as we'd ever need. Here's hoping.

Beautiful, simple and gorgeous.
Your talent as an artist really shines through here.

Love your house in the nether! It's like you could have tea in the breakfast nook and watch the floating eybeballs drift by. Quaint.

That third shot looks like the world is curved. Cool.
But ew! I really wish the devs would fix the sidegrass colour. It's such an easy fix and would make the game so much better looking. Heck the modding community already fixed it for them. Just implement it already! The different tones of green on the sideblock really get on my nerves. It's like an obvious lazy mistake that the designers decided to overlook, and still decide to overlook. It's been a long time since they released biomes. It's time the biomes worked like they should huh? Who's with me? /rage!
I'm with you /rage :tongue.gif: It's worse in other packs where the biomes change the colours more though..
You responded to everyone but me *feels left out* aaaaand I still haven't found any lily pads :sad.gif: (I've got the latest wildgrass and texture pack)
Yes I ignored you because I hate sidesnow even more than sidegrass. And I hate burnt custard. I'm full of hate towards you.
But hate aside, fyi - you need to 'plant' flowers in water to get your lily pads. Yellow=lily pad, red=lily pad with flower. Try it & enjoy!
just got moved into my new apartment ,and thought id stop by as usall and say ,i love the lightstone, amazing,it goes well with the pack. Also i went to the nether for the first time and it was amazing compared to the other packs. Ive been thinking about releasing my 3 contest pictures ,i finished them the day the contest started , oddly enough this hole contest has shown me a taste of being a true artist, working on something so hard and then becoming nervous about releasing your work to the world to view. lol ,not to be deep or anything :tongue.gif: .So ,here are my 3 for all of you . The first is "peacefull solitude" //i.imgur.com/Zlldt.jpg" width="" height="" alt="" />" width="" height="" alt="" /> the 2nd is the grand show //imgur.com/3dahR" target="" data-ensure-absolute>" width="" height="" alt="" /> and last but not least is " the reward"awakened dream"//i.imgur.com/bRcBB.jpg" width="" height="" alt="" />" width="" height="" alt="" />
so these are my entries, and thnx again for the awsome texture pack. :tongue.gif:
Hi, first of all I want to say how much a love this texture pack. For me, this is what my "default" Minecraft setting is. Even my friends who insist on playing with 64x64 or 128x128 textures are impressed with your work.
I have a slight problem, though. I'm playing on a 24 inch widescreen monitor, and whenever I expand the game window to fill up my screen, the aiming reticule gets this extra line on the right side of it:
This seems to be a small slice of the health and armor icons you have just to the right of the reticule in icons.png. As an experiment, I removed the left-most pixels from those icons and my problem went away.
And in the fine tradition of "I love your work, but here's what I hate about it...", my favorite thing about your art is the extraordinary amount of detail you can squeeze out of a 16x16 space, greatly improving on the original design, but the health and armor icons are the one area where you've reduced the detail rather than expanded it. They are much more plain than the originals, and not immediately identifiable as to their purpose, which can make them confusing. I can always replace them myself, but I'd love to see your take on how to make them identifiable yet more creative than the original designs.
What can I use to change to the alts? I was wanting to use the alternate Pumpkins, Grass, Glass with the "X" pattern, work bench, iron door, cobble stone, and the TNT that looks like it has the tnt strapped to the side.
I have no idea how to make these changes though. :tongue.gif:
