i actually had my boyfriend take this picture for me because i had no idea how to do it either. if you want i can take a picture for you if you need, im always up for smp :smile.gif:
Hey Andre, I was wondering... Do you know if there is a custom texture for the color of the underwater fog & blur?
I was swimming around in SPM and noticed that the defaults really didn't live up to the pack. See what I mean?

does this mean we have to re-enter our photos? cause i know you liked it to be the most recent of your texture pack.
Have you ever considered flipping the shovels around? Like mirroring them across the vertical so that the shafts go this way:
Good point. I kinda like wacking away at the dirt by swinging the shovel like a hammer, but you're right it's not as realistic. I'll give it a try and see how I like it.

1. Nether Panorama (just added some levels to brighten it up a bit)

No, I completely understand. I play multiplayer alot. When you put this pack on, 3/4 of the ugly stuff turna pretty (I do appreciate your ART in this <3). however, about 3/4 of the pretty stuff turns ugly too. "Smoothstone" has cracks all over it, nice floors turn into messy rooms, and everything ends up looking wrong.
I understand completely how you want your vision to go, but at a point the playability and multiplayer requirements have to constrain how crazy the pack can be.
Dont let the ppl get you down, but please, please make this pack more playable.
True enough. Sorry I'm not changing the smoothstone, I'm happy with it and I'm not providing alts for all the ore blocks. But you'll be happy to hear that I added an alternate workbench texture just for folks like you. And there's several other alts in the terrain.png that might interest you. Enjoy!

This is really amazing. It also makes me think of Animal Crossing for some reason.
I like that game. I played it with my wife on the Wii. It's funny, we were out to dinner and we were gossiping about the creatures in our game. We're dorks.

looking at all these entries are making me very insecure, like i dont want to put any photos into the contest ; ;
but i will try anyway, doesnt hurt i guess. i will try my best! D:<
I feel insecure every time I see great art. It's a good feeling. It drives us forward, it helps us reach levels we otherwise wouldn't. Harness it!

I know what you mean. As far as I can tell there's no way to change that underwater colour. I'd love to edit that. And the sky. If anyone knows how, pretty please let me know.
Thanks for the alt workbench, also edited my picture post with my final picture... Spring break now though so won't be checking back as much since I'll only have my phone!
Here's the alt workbenches as flooring... (and alt sandstone, a classic)
So I've been snapping away on minecraft for the past couple days, but now I must whittle all these down to just three...this is going to be hard. Im no good at picking and choosing my own stuff. :/ Alas, there is still another week left, and I will wait and see what else I come up. But that aside, Im really liking this "project", its nice to take a break from the building and mining to enjoy the beauty of the the game. :smile.gif:
Fun fact: The new sandstone is my favorite texture I've created.
I love that it's a 3 texture material block where I can make the top, sides, and bottom. And it's the only naturally occurring instance of this texture type. You really start to feel like you're sculpting the blocks themselves instead of just coming up with a texture that looks good when it's repeated on all sides of a cube.
But I bet they'll probably downgrade the sandstone to a 1 texture block like they did with the iron gold & diamond solid blocks. So enjoy it while you can.

I REALLY like the new Lightstone. It makes it look more like stained glass to me, which I find will work better when integrating it to work as light fixtures/lamp posts. I've been looking for something similar to that for a good while. Trying out the alt work bench as well. Personally, I prefer the tools on top texture more, so far.
Also, I should mention that I love your brick texture. I find them much more versatile and aesthetically pleasing than the default ones, mainly due to the colour. Good call on those.
So chicken are now crows ? Very good idea. But what about the feathers ? it should be black. And it's weird to hear a crow making chicken noises and acting like them XD hehe
And who wants a cake made with crow eggs now ? Never tried that... XD

It does go hand and hand with sand. I'll probably switch back to it since the alt texture, when found naturally, just doesn't work; unless I can come up with some excuse in my head to justify it. Hah. Then on the other hand the natural one is weird to build with (maybe I can use it as flooring?). But I like that you're able to find it naturally because it makes collecting it a breeze!
new glowstone isnt in the update :sad.gif:. I looked over the terrain.png and its the old stone. Cant wait :tongue.gif:
It was new for me. I changed some stuff though. I changed the glowstone back and the birch tree. The new birch made my house look like zebra trim XD giggity giggity.

Gosh no! Everyones entries are plenty valid. All the old textures are still there as alts anyways so folks can switch them around if they wish.

Sounds like the "goth jokes" we used to tell: "I'm so goth my birthcake cake was made with crow eggs." etcetc. =)

1) Japanese Inspired clifftop building
2) What a odd shaped water source!
3) Even in the deep depths the moon can still reach you
Cobble is now bricks in your pack, and thats all over the place in the wild. Water + lava = colored bricks? dungeons = colored bricks?
move over sidegrass; REALISM IS FOR WIMPS, GO WILD JOLICRAFT!
