1.9 Update DOWNLOAD
· Added custom biomes that don't suck. But they're set as alts for now, until I perfect them, but they're there for you to test. I tried to stay true to the base colours of Jolicraft, because they were so meticulously chosen and I couldn't deviate too far or the whole scheme just fell apart. But there's some nice variation, go explore!
· Changed the bed texture a bit, made it more solid.
I love this pack :biggrin.gif: GIVE IT MAC SUPPORT :DDDDD
I use it and I play exclusively on Macs.
how!!!!! For christs sake, MC patcher wont work (minecraft closes itself after loading) and I cant find any textures I put in my folder!
Sorry I'm not much for troubleshooting, but the basics are that you need to find your minecraft texture pack folder (you can click the "open texture pack folder" button in the in-game texture pack selector interface), then put the zip in there. You don't need to extract it or anything, just put the zip in there and you'll be able to select it from the menu.

i love this texture pack! it reminds of a comic i once read (can't recall the name) but the art style makes me happy everytime i look at it. thank you for making this! =3
Awesome, enjoy! And the comic you're thinking of is Archie, issue#281. Jolicraft is inspired exclusively by Archie issue#281.

I made an account here just to say I love your pack, though I can't seem to get water and lava working(used the patcher you link but its okay, I can live with it). Other the that...all I can say is I love it! Its cute and I really love the cake. >w> I loved ti so much my floor is made out of tic-tac-toe cakes. DX
Cake floor: It's food or shelter, not both.

Something that may help with making the biome compliant version as interesting as possible considering the limitations:
The biome colors are essentially applied as an overlay layer. This means the texture doesn't necessarily have to be grayscale. If you use warm grays, it will play down greens in the normal biomes, and play up the browns in the desert biomes. If you use cold grays, it will do the opposite. If you make your color ramp go from warm or cold, or the other way around, you can get some interesting effects. It will certainly make the grass look less "default" and will provide some hueshifting.
I always found if you're editing hues in the terrain.png, the max light & dark levels of the resulting mix are either too high or low (depending on the temperature). I think for being able to accurately choose a biome colour you need to do all your hue work on the grasscolor png, and have a completely desaturated base in your terrain.png. Then the lights & darks will be the proper brightness. It's a small difference, but noticeable if you're looking for it. Anyways, enjoy the custom biomes!
im using the newest pack and the grass doesnt look like jolicraft anymore,im afraid to look at the ores, dont sell out,:tongue.gif: keep your style, thats what we fell in love with, zombies with ties 4ever,and dirty pigs ftw.

I've still got some work to do on the biome grass. I can't decide how far I want to push the variation. On one hand, I love being able to choose the colours that everyone sees, and on the other I love biomes and the randomness that they give to the terrain. It's hard to strike a balance. And I'm not happy with my old ores or my new ones. And I only sell out for money, and there's no money to be made here, so rest assured that every choice made was made by me alone. :wink.gif:

There is one section of the biome table that is the exact same hue as my original grass. Then it deviates to green, orange, and yellow. So there is a biome out there that is the same colour as the original grass.
But I think I was hasty in putting up the biome notice. I just reuploaded 1.9 and put the biomes as alts, for those interested in how jolicraft would work with biomes. But I think for the base textures, and my own game, the original non-biomed grass & trees will stay.
Im not sure why this is happening but after using the MCPatcher to get the custom lava and water,my soil turned grey at the surface..The leaves of the trees also turned white O.O.
Any idea what happened?

World's shortest scary story:
The last man sat in his room and someone knocked on the door.
I really like this, but I have one small complaint. The last few stages of wheat are hard to tell apart and it's hard to tell when it's done. If you could make it easier to tell when it's done that would be awesome.
You forgot to add support for your biome wildgrass, your also missing the wildgrass Lillys.
Nice work though :biggrin.gif:
Doh! I'll fix that. But as wildgrass isn't 1.3 compatible yet, no rush.

Can you make an alternative iron/gold/diamond/lazuli block? 'Cause it looks really weird when whole buildings are built out of them..
Yeah, I'll add an alternate of those in the png. I use those sort of blocks as accents and decoration, so they look good for that purpose, but there's no harm in me putting some alternates so I'll do that with the next update.

I noticed this, so I made the very last state of wheat a bright yellow. It's pretty distinguishable from the previous states. If you see yellow wheat, it's done.

I bet you say that to all the pixel artists.

You get 1000 cookies
Tried this, got white topsides of grass and white trees.
Thats b/c your using his old grass and foliag biomes which are transparent.....
Found out what you meant, the correct foliage color were labled as "foliage color alt".
Sorry if he said that and I didn't see it.
here the .png
Thanks by advance.
EDIT : moreover I'm playing on a Tundra biomes type, and I don't understand what's the 1.9 version is about.
