elegance is peace and beauty is bliss.(that's what I hear anyway!:D)
With perfect Honesty, I was not interested in "Jolicraft". It looked extremely well thought out and executed but not to my liking.
And My word how that changed drastically with "Joliween". I am not a particularly festive person as far as holidays are concerned. Perhaps I will get a tree and adorn it with lights for X-mas and I will buy one or two fancy Detonations on July 4th (being American and whatnot) but Halloween is a holiday I take much more into consideration as though by not being festive for other holidays allows me to charge up for Halloween.
Naturally when A texture-pack with as high regard such as this comes to don a Halloween outfitting, I'm intrigued. As for Joliween, In two words, I'm amazed. More lengthily I am absolutely awed at this magnificence of this Texture-pack! It is far and away the best of textures-packs I have seen. The attention to detail is fantastic and the textures are cohesive with each other, unlike some texture modifications where stone and dirt look as though they came from entirely different packs(save for Stone which feels a tad out of place)! The color palate used is very friendly to the goal theme, and it adds a sort of warmth to the environment in some places while giving off a more desolate and eerie vibe in others so good job! There isn't to much to say specifically about how good the pack is, given it somewhat falls into "This looks good and this doesn't." but I feel that this pack really outshines the others in it's attention to detail, cohesive theme and general completeness. The change of atmosphere from vanilla to Joliween is incredible and very welcome to me, it changes my whole outlook of Minecraft and for the better. Playing before It was like cooking a dull meal, it satisfied me and left me feeling full. Joliween, however, adds an excellent dash of spice.
However, In some ways I feel it may be just a little to much spice. The visual aesthetic is appealing but it extends into dis-functionality. Some of the GUI is a bit harder to see and understand at a moments notice such as the Health/Food and Armor meters. The Inventory while mostly unchanged feels a bit messy and cluttered. The last particular annoyance of the new GUI was the targeting reticule. I'm not sure why it was changed at all, a circle to me has no place in this game but certainly not as the method of aiming. It is not favorable to the original cross-hair in that I'm not entirely certain where I am aiming only that it is somewhere within the white sphere. Aesthetically I seen no reason for the circle, as is bears no cohesion with the rest of the pack and it doesn't look much better or much worse than a simple +.
TL: DR/Summary-
This is all just my opinion for however much you may value it, but overall I really do love this texture-pack and wish you luck for future development with it. It has small errors but certainly nothing that would lead me to dissuade one from using this pack. Of course, I have yet to fully explore all the changes of this pack so I may have missed something, but my time with it has left me with a solid, good, impression. I love this pack and I love Halloween!
That's more of the developer's fault because the snowman mob uses the normal pumpkin as a head. Since the default in Jolicraft is an un-carved pumpkin, the mob has no face.
It's not a problem for me because I still use the carved pumpkin in Jolicraft—it feels more classic.
Andre I have a question to ask you. me and a friend are makign a HALLOWEEN speci9al map and since Joliween is spooky and all that we are wondering if yo ucan allow us to use joliween for the map "WE will change a few textures like the bow to look like something else etc." so can we do that ? we will incldue a direct link to this thread.
Great pack! I've been using it for ages! Love the customiser. I've now got my perfect Jolicraft. I'm sure you get lots of people saying this, but i just wanted to say how much i appreciate your efforts on this. Well done!

Great well thought-out feedback. Will give this some consideration. Thanks!
Pour faire un bonhomme de neige met deux blocs de neige l'un sur l'autre et une citrouille.
Sinon j'adore ton pack! Continue :tongue.gif:
EDIT: Tu vas faire des alternatives pour les armures? car l'adventure update avec des lunettes en diams sa le fait pas trop x)
English Version:
Hi andre you forgot to do the swonman mob, look:
With the default pack:
check picture above
And with jolicraft:
check picture above
Do a snowman is easy just put 2 snow blocs one on the other and after a pumpkin.
I love your pack! keep going :tongue.gif:
EDIT: Are you going to do some alternative for the Armor? because with the adventure update with diamond glass it's weird x)
Yeah, I haven't even done the snowman skin yet. I really hope they get rid of the pumpkin as the head. I love the snowman head, why hide it under a pumpkin? Anwyays, I'm waiting to see the final version of the snowman before I give it any serious thought.
I agree with you, i'm not very keen on those pumpkin heads too, but if they remove the pumpkin head how we will do snowman?
And about the armor are you working on some alt?
Maybe stack 3 snow blocks and then right click with an enchanted stick? :biggrin.gif:
Well, here's my entry for the statue contest! Just wanted to say, I absolutely love Jolicraft, and the new addition of Joliween is wonderful. Anyways, I present the clown worm!
This pack is great! It's so unique. I like that the author has created such a unique 16x pack. Many of them look similar, but this one has its own style.
It looks like the enchanting table is missing on the custom pack. I noticed this on another texture pack that had a customizer as well, so it may be a problem with the site?

Looks awesome. Any chance you could upload the png for me to add as an alt?
Sure, no problem.
Yes, but it's always appreciated :biggrin.gif:

Oh, I didn't even notice the body. I thought you were just referring to the face. :X

Coming soon: Nintendo World Resource Pack
But of course! :smile.gif: Feel free to alter it if you wish.
That is iron. That means you can do whatever you want with my pack as long as you say it was by me
*edit as you can probably see from the cobble in the water, i tried lava for the eyes. The lava and woll had a fight. Lava won. :3
