Forgive me if this has been answered, I did a search but couldn't find anything specific to my question.
Whenever I use Photoshop CS3 to edit my .png files, I find it always dithers or down converts the colour depth to something other than what I was editing. What sort of colour depth should I be working in?
The only real reason to use the indexed color format when saving a png is if you have an image that only has a few colors and you want to boost the compression. Often indexed images are far smaller than their truecolor equivalents.
