Oh, don't mind, you haven't been a pain at all! On the contrary, you've been a great help! I'm not allowed to bump my own threads or double post unless I have new, relevant information to provide- like letting everyone know when it's been updated and what's changed- so your being here has been a great help for keeping my thread on page one more often then usual! I only wish I could've been as helpful for you.
Awesome concept, and it looks okay, but I'm not sure I like the execution of it. If it were me (you don't have to) I would see if I could make it so that all the blocks are more distinguishable. Just sayin.

Great suggestion, actually- I've thought about this many times! Do you have any suggestions on how should I go about doing this while continuing to maintain the same degree of transparency I have now? Also, specifically which blocks need to be more distinguishable? I've been working on my pack for so long that I can take one glance at any block in it and chances are that I can identify what it is in a fraction of a second. I understand that not everyone's quite so adept with it. That difference in, "I can recognize everything in my pack while players who are using it for the first time might have a little trouble" is one thing that's stopping me from better identifying problems with my pack. A problem that's almost as big as this is, "How could I better distinguish them without doing something too invasive- adding too many solid pixels- while making sure it doesn't look exactly like another block that's already in my pack?"
The pack's been updated! I've made leaves more transparent, falling in line with the same wireframe format as most other blocks, added some transparency to tilled farm tiles, added a tiny, TINY bit more transparency to detector rails becausewhythehellnot, added solidity to the borders of sandstone, planks, stone slabs, double stone slabs, snow blocks and netherrack to make them easier to tell apart from all other blocks and made all colored and uncolored cloth blocks easier to distinguish from all other blocks, too.
To everyone: I'm considering adding transparency to some blocks that have long been solid/only featured minute amounts of added transparency. Please quote this to let me know how you'd feel if the following blocks were made partially transparent.
Dispensers, lapis lazuli, iron, gold and diamond blocks - About 50% transparent - Add transparency/Keep them solid
Workbenches, furnaces, jukeboxes and note blocks - About 80% transparent - Add transparency/Keep them solid
Glowstone - About 90% transparent - Add transparency/Keep them solid
By lapis lazuli, iron, gold and diamond blocks, I mean the solid-colored blocks you end up with when you combine nine of the appropriate items, not the ores. Also, if you think I should add/remove transparency to some degree on a block or item that's already been modified, please let me know!
This doesn't seem to work for me. I have used other textue packs, and they work, but when I compress this one(or any other x-ray vision pack, it shows up in the mods and texture pack button in-game, but it is in black and white and there is no change from the default one. I have a mac.
The reason for this is because I think it won't show up in-game, but when I compress it, is becomes a .zip, and just doesn't function as it should.
Hey i was reading this and i have a mac too, what you have to do is compress all the items inside the folder, not the folder itself so when you see the Strongestcraft folder do not zip it, go into it and zip all of the items inside it by highlighting it, right clicking and then clicking "Compress 29 items" (i think thats what it is, but if not its close) and you then put that zipped folder into the Texture Pack folder in your minecraft folder, hope i could help.

Oh my! Thanks for all your help! This'll be going in the first post!
"I cut and pasted the contents of the folder to the "texturepacks" folder. Why isn't it showing up under Mods & Texture Packs after I start the game?"
You're not supposed to do that- you need to cut and paste the entire .zip folder, WITHOUT extracting its contents, to the texturepack folder.
Hey thanks for putting my tip in the post but i noticed this after it and i thought it may cause confusion because you do take the folders contents but you zip the contents not the folder it comes in so say this is the folder and this is the contents, you would go into highlight and then zip the removing the zipped from the and putting that zipped file in the texture pack folder

Can you make storage boxes look like storage boxes? I got so confused when they all turned into cobblestone. o.O
You got it! I've added varying degrees of transparency to iron, gold and diamond blocks- the blocks, not the ores, that would be silly- workbenches, furnaces, jukeboxes, note blocks and glowstone, returned chests to their original textures, updated this post to contain a section on how to properly hide your chests on servers that don't use chest-protecting plugins and updated the readme.txt to contain more information for mac users. Enjoy!
Why? At the depth they're found, they already have a unique texture all to themselves, and unless they're being hit by lava light, chances are they'll be pitch black anyway. If you meant, "Can you change them from being pitch black to being lit up?" nope, that would involve modifying lines of coding to make certain blocks give off artificial light, not editing .png files. I'm sorry, but that's not my thing.
Ooh, thanks! You really saved me on that one. I'll be changing the link immediately. Again, thank you!
Updated that link and another one featuring no modifications, deleted the original links from my account, and the pack's been updated! Fixed an issue with white wool looking too similar to snow blocks and changed obsidian and coal textures just a tiny bit each; if you're reading this, don't worry, you'll still be able to recognize them immediately.
TO EVERYONE: I'm considering making cobblestone transparent again since the only reason I have to keep it solid anymore is to assist in finding dungeons. Still, with mossy cobblestone being a solid block, even with normal cobblestone being transparent, dungeons should still be easy to find.
Should I make normal cobblestone transparent again? If so, why? If not, why not?
Strongestcraft's been updated! I've made cobblestone transparent again, made powered and unpowered booster rails noticeably more transparent, shrank the .png that removes clouds from 256x256 to 16x16 to cut down on the size of the pack, increased visibility by a tiny degree during both day and night by messing with vignette.png. Enjoy!
While you're reading this, what would you like to see improved?
Don't link everything to adf.ly. It's a cheap way of making money. I agree with doing it for download links, but not pictures and youtube videos. And the pack is meh.
Considering I only get about 1/5th of a single penny per click + that you only have to wait five seconds + that there are plenty of things out there- like greasemonkey scripts- to bypass that five second wait, I~ think I'll be keeping the links there. Now, tell me, how should I make the pack better? I have it posted all over this thread: if you have a suggestion that you think would make it better, LET ME KNOW ABOUT IT. Until I receive such a suggestion, I guess my pack's perfect since no one has a single negative thing about it to point out, including you.

mainly good, except doesnt show exactly were lava is it may be wrong by 3 blocks or so, i died many many times because of this...
If you see a cavern deep underground that's lit up, remember: there's only one thing that far below ground in the normal world that forms naturally and gives off light. Lava. If you see an "empty" area that's nice and bright, it's filled with lava.
Note to self: Get around to providing screenshots of this in the first post as an example of how to avoid lava.
The pack's been updated! I've doubled the transparency of all leaf blocks, snow blocks and snow tiles, changed the color of obsidian a bit, added some transparency to clay due to the way it forms on mcMMO servers, reduced the identification pixels on grass and dirt blocks from four to one to increase visibility, changed the position of one on sand. Enjoy!
As per the votes of the last poll, the pack's been updated! Enjoy! As always, if you have any suggestions that could make Strongestcraft even stronger, let me know what you want to see improved!
Strongestcraft has been updated! I've removed rain and snow to increase visibility, added transparency to spiderwebs and added transparency to the following interfaces: chests, crafting tables, furnaces, dispensers, your inventory, your hotbar, the main menu before you're in-game and the main menu while paused in-game. Great for catching threats coming right at you- creepers, for example- that you wouldn't have seen without that transparency. Enjoy! As always, if you have any suggestions that could make Strongestcraft even stronger, let me know what you want to see improved!

Curse PremiumSorry, but I can't actually do that without modifying lines of code. I'd love to- really, I would- but that's not my thing.
