Cead - Just tested them; they all work for me, therefore, it must be a problem on your end.
Vex - Now I see what you're talking about.
Edit: Think I found it. I'm gonna laugh if the solution was this simple all along.
EDIT2: PFFFFHAHAHAhahahaaa, yeah, that was it; it turns out he sliiiiiightly edited the names of several key files in his texture pack, so when Minecraft checked to see whether or not those edited files were in my texture pack after you selected it, Minecraft would think, "Oh, nope, Strongestcraft doesn't have terrarocks.png in it. It only has some completely unrelated file in it called terraRocks.png with a capital "R". So! Since it doesn't have terrarocks.png in it, with a lower case "r", I'm going to use the only version of it that I have found, the default one in TFC, which has solid rocks in it instead of transparent ones." All because of some capitalised/uncapitalised letter differences. Haaaa. Update coming shortly.
If you have any suggestions to make these texture packs even better, or you've found a website that's using the wrong adf.ly links to pay someone else for my work, post here to let me know and feel free to let that website know they've made a mistake, if you'd like!
And, because I'm pretty sure there's no rule against linking to one of your own threads at the end of your posts like a secondary signature, here's a link to around 10 insane custom maps I've created, one of which is an EXTREMELY large survival/exploration/puzzle/adventure/optional multiplayer/etc. map with over two hundred hours of content, guaranteed! http://www.minecraft...ated-july-10th/
Warning: You are about to enter a TL;DR zone. Please equip your protective gear to prevent any bodily harm. Or, you know, skim if you want. That works too..
I made this account to let you know how much I love this texture pack. I've read through what I feel was a large portion of this thread, but then skipped a lot of it due to "Well this is cheating" and "It's people like you who ruin multiplayer" just as much as there were "Thank you's" and "This is awesome!". Nothing wrong with any of that, it just makes up like 90% of the thread and I feel like I didn't miss out on much by skipping 25 pages.
I must say, I love the way you handled those situations. You kept your cool, remained polite, and not once forced your opinion on anyone. You relied on facts, and you had given valid counterarguments. I'm not saying that others haven't given good counterarguments as well, but not many people do what you do when it comes to defending your own project/opinions. I absolutely admire that.
I've used this mod for about 20 minutes now, and I must say that I like how it works. It took me a minute to get my bearings using the mod. I play in the Aether, a single-player only mod, and it's missing all the blocks. I had headed over to the Aether and found myself greeted with every block normal. While that was a minor letdown, there wasn't really much to get.
I decided to try it out on a vanilla MC SMP and found myself looking not for Diamonds (because everyone does that and we all know that after 15 minutes you can get one), but Emeralds instead. While on the hunt, I noticed that Diamonds were brightly colored, but with Emeralds being as rare as they are, I wasn't able to find any. I wasn't sure if the texture pack included them, so I double checked and found they did. Here's where a few suggestions come in:
1) I saw that as soon as I went underground, EVERYTHING got significantly darker. As in, I saw the lighting of the blocks just flat out drop in brightness. Not really anything to worry about, because I'm not sure if this intentional or not.
2) When I'm mining, I can see the block behind the block. Neat. What gets me is when I'm mining and there's a TON of black space under me, it's hard to see the blocks behind the block. Is it possible to increase the brightness of those blocks? There are times where I'm unable to tell if I'm looking at coal or iron behind a block. I know the texture is different, but it's just so dark.
Edit: I had attempted to use a torch and see if it would brighten up past the blocks, and that didn't work. Maybe the ability to set a torch and let the blocks in the back get brighter, or make them brighter by default?
3) While on the topic of dark, I took the liberty of looking into the terrain.png file. The Emerald green is not only a wee bit dark for my tastes, the X is the opposite of the Redstone. I notice Redstone extremely easily, not just by the huge red block with the X in it, but because most of it is red. I feel like I would miss the Emerald if I was unable to see it from bing dark as well as there being so little of it. At least, as compared to every other ore.
Overall, this is a great texture pack. I attempted to modify the png file myself but apparently by doing so, it makes it non-x-ray. Left transparencies on but oh well. Redownloaded and working with what I have for the time being. Thanks a bunch for the great creation!
Unfortunately, yeah, the game's sky changes from blue to black at a depth of around 64, and once you start going below 16, an unnatural, black fog starts creeping in - and since those are both effects created by the game's coding, not just its textures, there's nothing I can do about it without creating an entirely new x-ray mod, in addition to this x-ray texture pack.
When it comes to mining at a depth of 0 to 16, I strongly recommend hanging out at around a depth of 16-18 for as long as possible and keeping an eye out below you and to all your sides for the greatest chance of spotting ores.
I'm not sure what you mean by the. Could you take a screenshot, please?
Even though this is only a texture pack, not a mod which changes any lines of code, there are a few things you can do to make things brighter without torches, lava, jack-o-lanterns, glowstone, etc.
Equip a pumpkin as a helmet, which *might* make things brighter, depending on your monitor's brightness, contrast, gamma and other settings. However, I just thought of a simple, obvious way to make this work well for all sorts of people on all sorts of different computers, and I'll be working on this improvement as soon as I'm done with this post!
Speaking of that, a third way to make everything brighter: configure your monitor's brightness, contrast, gamma and other settings! :> And turn your brightness settings in Minecraft all the way up, of course!
Good point; I'll reverse the redstone and emerald ore textures, though their colours will remain more or less the same.
Thanks again! Your input's about to help make SCP and SC64 even better.
Vanilla Changes
Updated night vision pumpkin helmets to give them 4x as many chances to work on anyone's computer, whatever their monitor settings may be
Updated the textures of gold, iron, coal, redstone and emeralds to better suit their supply and demand and to make their textures more easily distinguishable from each other
Aether Changes
Made around 15 Aether blocks transparent!
Special thanks to Tess_Verres for suggesting or inspiring all of these improvements! If you have any suggestions to make these texture packs even better, or you've found a website that's using the wrong adf.ly links to pay someone else for my work, post here to let me know and feel free to let that website know they've made a mistake, if you'd like!
Sorry; I wish, but it's impossible since they use the exact same texture.
By default, there's a 16x16 pixel area in terrain.png that lets Minecraft know, "Hey, use the pixels in this area as the texture for stone blocks." Unfortunately, that same area is used for silverfish stone blocks, so even if we edit how it looks, that edit will show up on both types of blocks in-game, making it so that they always look the same and have the same edits. The same applies to normal cobble compared to silverfish cobble and so on.
However, there's probably a *mod* which modifies lines of the game's coding which can do this for you; if you look for one and it does exist, I hope you find it!
No problem and thanks for your support! If you have any suggestions to make it even better, feel free to let me know. Note to self: make mushrooms bigger in the next update. They used to be much larger - then Notch added the ability for them to spawn more mushrooms around them. I had to return them to their original size a few days later, as Notch made them spawn way too rapidly. Afterwards, Notch drastically reduced how quickly they generate more mushrooms around themselves. I should've returned 'em back to their large size at this point, but just never got around to it. Now that they don't spawn about 5 mushrooms every 20 minutes, which also spawn their own 5 mushrooms every 20 minutes and so on, clutter won't be any issue anymore.
Thanks; I'm glad this has helped! Now I just need to stop being lazy and update those mushrooms already. Not exactly a big update, but still, every little bit helps.
I'm not sure what you mean, but I'll update minecraft and start playing to find out!
EDIT: Oh, that. They've always been like that and probably always will be. Since stone blocks are mostly invisible and they use the same texture for stone, they're mostly invisible too. Also, to add helmet textures back, delete the "armor" folder inside whichever version of SC you downloaded. Hope this helped!
Click any of the first 4 links at the top of the thread, depending on which version of SC you want. I'll enlarge the size of their font to make them easier to see.
Trapped chests? Huh, I'll have to look up what those are. But if they work like buttons: that will literally be impossible without changing lines of code, which would make this a mod, not a texture pack.
Nope - I don't think they exist in any of the .png files. If tripwires do, then they're very well hidden, but I don't think that's the case.
here is s screenshot with the texture pack on

Simply punch a block and it'll become noticeably brighter! Do this with any transparent block like dirt, stone, sand, cobblestone, etc. and you'll be able to put that added brightness to use by seeing everything through that block as appearing brighter, too!

I believe that what i have circled in RED, is tripwire
I also painted the transpareant pixels black for easy visibility
