Strongestcraft's been updated! I've cleaned up redstone dust to make it easier to tell where it's pointing, made detector rails, powered booster rails and unpowered booster rails slightly more transparent, made clay easier to spot, replaced the previous mossy cobblestone texture with the original one since they're both 100% solid anyway and updated the readme.txt. Enjoy! As always, let me know what you think about this texture pack!
Make it so that diamond ore is shown without exposing it.
F.A.Q./Concerns
"I've seen videos where people can turn x-ray texture packs on and off with the press of a button. How do I do that?"
Those aren't texture packs, those are actually modifications to the client they're using. My texture pack simply edits the appearance of various things- what they're using involves modifying lines of code to change how the game renders blocks on your screen. My texture pack offers only edited images, not edited lines of code; it cannot be toggled on/off while in-game.
"Can you make it so that the game shows lava/water blocks when you're underneath them/at their sides?"
Unfortunately, no; tying in with the above, that would involve modifying lines of code. It's impossible for me to make my texture pack reveal lava/water from the sides and underneath if those sides aren't in direct contact with air. Fortunately, however, you should be able to tell that lava is there due to how the area is lit up, not to mention that lava and water are impossible to miss as you're descending from the surface to the caverns below you since you'll be able to see them from the top. For more information on this, please read the lava safety guide in the first post of this thread.
">""Your texture pack doesn't show everything that's there- when will you make your texture pack capable of seeing things like diamonds that are completely surrounded by stone?"Tying in with both questions above, that isn't possible for me to do. Again, that would involve editing lines of code, and that would make this a mod, not a texture pack. For most of the same reasons I plan on never making this texture pack require something like ModLoader for ease of use, I also plan on never making an x-ray mod.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that- since stone and wooden pressure plates draw their textures from the exact same blocks as stone blocks and wooden plank blocks, making stone/planks transparent also means making stone/wooden pressure plates very difficult to see. Unfortunately, I have no way of fixing this. Still, thanks for your support; I'm glad it's helped!
Hey, I was thinking, instead of having the ores, in like stripe form, how about you do something like this.
Have the original ore right? But put the general color of the ore, around the border, like for diamond.
Have the original ore, but then have 1 pixel line of light blue (the general color of diamond) bordering the ore, So you can see its diamond, but it has a light blue border around it. Its looks pretty legit when your using it.
Thanks for your support! Unfortunately, since 95% or more of ores found with this are first seen in pitch black caves, all you can see is the outline of the ore; if I had them all set to their original texture and color, but did the color-coded line suggestion, 95% of ores would look identical. Early on, many people realized that when all the ores look identical, it's frustrating to dig 100 blocks through stone to get to something you might think is gold or diamond but is really just another cluster of ores you don't need more of. By using the current system with completely different ore patterns, even in 95% of the areas where they're pitch black, you can still tell them apart thanks to the different shapes.
Strongestcraft's been updated! I've updated the texture pack for 1.8, though the small number of new blocks will temporarily be solid so you can get used to 'em. Enjoy! As always, let me know what you think about this texture pack!
Is this Texture pack capable of spotting silverfish blocks? I haven't researched on this, but aren't there silverfish blocks that look identical to stone? Unless it has a percentage of coming out of stone... :mellow.gif:
From my understanding, silverfish stone blocks draw from the same texture as normal stone blocks, (Similarly to how the old Alpha and early Beta Minecraft logo drew directly from stone blocks too), making them impossible to differentiate by sight, no matter what texture pack you use.
