so building test chambers even without the portal gun mod is proving extremely difficult and time consuming, getting the wiring right alone takes forever not to mention trying to come up with a good idea for the next trap, i've got creativity block and can't even think of something right now to do for the next chamber
Have you tried looking at youtube clips of other people's dungeons? They can be a great source to get an idea, and then you take that idea and customize it to fit your own style.
For example: I stink when I try and use redstone. Some people have complicated door puzzles, but the most complicated I could achieve was getting some dispensers to fire off correctly. So pick and choose to fit your own style!
I'm going in a bit of a different design direction with my map, now. I'm using the Precisely Portal pack as a template for a new texture pack that has a more design over function feel. This pack still has my full support and I'm linking to it in all my threads.

if some higher beings ever got to view this forum before coming to our planet they would turn back and not bother!

do you know how to get to the Netherlands other than a portal
I'm just curious about how you got the splashes working.
seriously, in my pack it wont work by simply being in the zip. I'd have to place the splashes.txt in the minecraft.jar,

That's fine. I actually support people modifying this pack to fit their own needs and desires, so if you want to modify it a bit more extremely than other people, that's fine too. I'm just glad it is useful in any way.
I just want everyone to be satisfied with their own dungeons and things. This pack is kind-of a "one sizes fits all" approach, but it makes sense to have a pack that is more focused on design than function.

Hmmm... yeah. I hadn't quite had time to look into how to do that, yet. But I've found the answer now, so I'll add it to the first post.
(hah) If there is anything about minecraft, it's the fact I know anything can happen. Nazi Zombies, Portal, it's all endless. ^.^ Thanks for the texture pack, it was exactly what I was looking for.
Update: I added a whole bunch 'o paintings that I've been working on for the last couple of days. The art file now looks something like this (Note: read the post below this one. 1x2 paintings are now in a different order than this image shows):
Not all of these paintings show up by default, of course. But we'll eventually get more default paintings in minecraft, and until then, you can swap these out however you like. =)
Small Update:
Stone was smoothed out, circular doors now have corners (since no-one seems to be using them with the paintings, although you still can do that to make them look nicer), glass was cleaned up, and 1x2 paintings were rearranged in order of importance. Splashes were shortened, too. I also cleaned up the title pack and gui slightly.
Things are just cleaner in general. They're small changes, but they make a big difference for the pack.
Your pack is amazing! I love it so much! the portal theme'd tools, the creeper skin, redstone, everything about this I love. I also love how the (on the modified pack) the nature goes along with the portal retextures so well. I only wish you would change the and :GP:. I noticed that you already plan to change the bows and fishing tools, but mabye also some of the dusts?

Well, I do want things to be as recognizable as possible but I am planning on altering the items a little bit when I have time. They won't be crazy different, mind, since I like being able to recognize everything without much sorrow... but I'll personalize them a bit later on.

You need to unzip my pack, replace the terrain.png with your altered version, and then zip it up again. Then it should work fine.
I think on presicley portal you should make iron blocks into weighted cubes
and gold blocks into companion cubes
Then i can have light green and pink spheres without using the other pack

Roblox forums are so dumb that if you say "What is a penis" they will take it seriously.
I procrastinated updating to 1.4 because the only "real" change was cookies (I haven't decided if I want to skin passive mobes yet, so wolves still look the same for now). But now it's updated. Nothing remarkable, but up to date.

can you make another one which is portal friendly to ichun's portal mod (get rid of companion cube and weighted storage cube) or should i do it myself? plus theres no fire texture
Do it yourself for now. Maybe when the mod API is out I might make a compatible version for that mod, but not right now. I've already got two versions of the pack out, and I have no desire to maintain a third one. We will see.

Sorry, but no. Precisely Portal needs cubes that can be moved without dropping anything or needing a pick. The best option with that criteria was to use the wool. And lots of people (including myself) really like the gold/iron blocks.
I really like the iron door being solid in the second pack. How do I create a custom pack where I can integrate it with all the other things from a pack called "Clean Design"?
This pack is great! I have the portal gun mod to with it so, its very entertaining. If everyone here wants a REALLY perfect companion cube then, it comes with the portal gun mod(it even has the advanced knee replacement boots).Anyway, this pack is awesome but one suggestion is to re-skin lava in a greenish color, that'd make it look like acid :tongue.gif:. You should make the following:
Cow: Wheatly head and turret body
Pig: GLaDos
Sheep: Stay the same
Chicken: Dress it up in a test suit XD reference to the test results you can find that say "Chicken: FAILED"

Use your favorite graphics software (I use photoshop), and move the textures around until you are happy with them. Then zip the file back up, and you'll have your own custom version of the pack!
Sorry I haven't done any updates for a while, guys. I'm still planning on finishing this pack, but my dungeon was distracting first, and then the Yogcast whitelist server was distracting, and now my finals are very distracting. So updates on my "to do" list are still planned, but they may take me a while to get around to.
