One quick question... May I use this for a adventure map I am currently working on? I will give credit and a link to this page... If not then I understand
Check the permissions section and it should be fine.
So I made the cube model, tell me whatcha think ^-^
They're beautiful! *Sniff. I wanted to make 3D textures, but I've never done modeling before and I haven't had much time to look into it lately... but those are great, and pretty much what I envisioned doing anyway! Do you happen to have a file I could use for them?
I'd still like to look into doing some models for a few other blocks eventually (like ores and packed ores), but the cubes were definitely a priority. =D
There you go you can just throw that in with the assets if you want.
I used Cubik Pro to make the models btw, took me a good 5 hours
I can tell it took a long time, and I think you did a great job! =D
I have run into some difficulty, however... I've tried to add your .json files to the packs but I can't seem to get the models to show in-game. I've added other models with success so I know I'm putting the files in the right location--and it's possible that it's just something really simple that I've missed (because I don't understand how these models work in depth). So I need to ask a few questions for troubleshooting purposes:
I believe you are using Precisely Portal 32x32 with this file, and from the image it looks like you were successful adding it to the resource pack. Did you use the exact names you sent me with success? And every file you included in the download is absolutely essential? (It seems like "pinkwool.json" and "wool_colored_pink.json" in the meshes folder are the same file but with different names. And neither name seems to be present in the original minecraft models folder where there is only a "wool.json" in the blocks folder).
I am able to launch with the file names left as they were originally, but the model does not show in-game. And if I attempt to change the file names to "obsidian.json," for instance, the game refuses to even launch!
Ah heck with troubleshooting questions. If you could send me the entire resourcepack with your working files included then I think I may be able to figure out what I have been doing wrong. I'm very new to this and it seems like there is a sharp learning curve. =/
For one of the unused wools you can make it the antique cube [pic of cube]. Also this for water [pic of redirection tunnel].
Both good ideas. I'm not terribly great at water-funnel like animations (I've yet to successfully fix the lava goo animation despite several attempts) but that's a good idea to think about in the future.
As for the PM with files you sent me, it worked great! Apparently the problem I had been having was that Mojang mislabeled their files in the .json. =/ Not cool, Mojang. This stuff is tricky enough without me having to figure out that "purple" wool is really supposed to be "pink" and "lime" is somehow "cyan." But on the other hand, it's relieving that I got so close to figuring it out myself... I thought I was way off, but it was just a silly bug.
So I've got those up and working now. I'll have to tweak the textures a bit, but it should be very satisfying in the end, I hope. =D Right now my game is crashing quite a bit with the models added, but it could be the amount of cubes I was testing (or something) so I need to experiment a bit to see just how stable the final result will be. I'll try to keep you guys posted--models are exciting things.

Yea models are a bit laggy and I'm not exactly the best at it as you can tell by some of the flickering in it.

The flickering is actually not the model itself, but where it draws the textures from (I believe. I had the same issue when working on armor textures at one point). The overlapped corners are drawing from different texture areas, and so it flickers between the two because it doesn't know which takes priority. I solved this issue on armor by making sure the flickering areas used the same exact texture... it's not perfect, but close enough not to be a big deal.
A test, textures still need to be touched up a bit. [pic]
You made an animation for water? Interesting! I'm not sure how that would look in a horizontal pool, but as a waterfall it's very fitting. I'm intrigued.
So me and a few other peeps are doing a sphaxy-remix of this pack. I hope you don't mind us doing so as it is 100% non-profit and only for fun. We also gave credit where credit is due.
I am currently making a modpack for a small server and I am planning an Aperture Science Enrichment Center portion and would like to add the pack to the modpack's files so that every player who has it can enjoy it properly. I will include a link back to the original fourm post and the author's name.
Now all I need to find is a Black Mesa texture pack...

and in case it wasn't clear I was asking and an awnser soon would be optimal

As I stated in the permission section on the opening post: "You're welcome to modify the packs to fit your own needs/dungeons/etc, butyou cannot make profit off of the textures themselves, claim the textures as your own, or repost the packs without giving credit and linking back to the originals. Thank you!"

I don't mind at all! It sounds like you're basically just using the ideas and re-making your own version of it. Spahx is a very different styling. =) If you're making your own entire pack just "inspired" by mine then you don't even need to ask permission, really, as it'll be entirely your own work.
