Ask yourself if your texture pack features a unique or interesting art style or direction. If you don't (or if your texture pack doesn't) and you still release it, we end up with a forum full of clones(see photos). Every single texture pack featured here is by a different author. They have nothing to do with each other. Do not release work that has been released already, for the sake of not polluting this section with clones. It's enough to wade through the garbage threads about already answered questions. Thank you.

I kindoff agree with you, but I just ignore packs like these and let them sink down to the dark holes of the archive.

But still I have nothing against those packs, it's just that the art style that they have employed is that, 'Simple, Clean, Basic' look which is very common. Some people like that look and it's good to have a variety of... variants of the same look. Also some of those packs have very unique interpretations of some some blocks. There are some outstanding 'Simple' packs out there, but I do agree there is sometimes an overabundance of packs with a simular style.

I do expect to see some angry members posting hate on you, you could of been less blunt and not posting pictures of '****' texture packs.

OP reworded to be a little less rude.

People recreate and rehash texture packs that have very little potential to be done any differently. There are only so many ways to outline every texture. What ends up happening is that after 1 creates a texture pack, 2 and 3 both decide to make one too, even though they could be perfectly happy with Joe's, because they're going for the exact same look and feel. It gets to the point where 5, 6, and 7, are releasing their packs in topics with the subject "Another simple pack: _____Craft!"

There are plenty of xray packs out there. How many ways, really, are there to see through a block?

You'll notice that I didn't include Freden's, ClearCraft, or hell, even Cube Craft, because they all bring something that, while simple, is attractive and unique. And you'll also notice that I sure as hell didn't name names in the OP.

It was reworded to be less rude? Did you take out a part where mothers were mentioned or something? Did you blame the Holocaust on the kind of texture packs you've no love for? This egocentric, unwarranted blather is the exact reason why hundreds of talented, creative people are silent and stifled, instead of offering what they have to offer to the mining public. There are countless differences between the texture packs you posted as examples of clones, and ultimately, there was no reason for you to be intentionally offensive like this.

If you don't like a style of texture packs, don't download them, it is that simple, they aren't hurting you or "clogging the tubes" and the only reason it should bother you at all is if the world revolves around you, which it doesn't, despite all appearances.

If you're getting ready to post a self-centred and pointless rant, ask yourself this; do you have an opinion on a topic or just complaints? If you had asked yourself this, you would have realized that just because your weetabix sliced up your mouth like a bowl of dry Captain Crunch, it does not make you the decider of what is an acceptable style of texture pack and what is not.

just because they all look the same to you doesn't mean they do for everyone, and that is a fact lol, anywho, since when did you have the power to create and enforce these guidelines? i would like to know because it must be easy.

yes, but the difference between all mainstream popular packs (like frendens, and splotch block etc) is they are unique and are true to the pack, the problem is its so easy to make a simple pack with a certain style is people go: that looks easy lets do that, which is natural, i myself have a simple pack, and the only reason people download it is because it isnt boring and generic like a lot of simple packs out there
