Welcome to my texture pack! The texture pack is slightly unfinished, I've taken a few textures from Jolicraft, and Frendens packs, but for the most part, everything is done by my hand, and from scratch, including the art! It's titled 'Redland' because the tone of the pack uses the color red. If one asked me what was my inspiration for this? Well, I haven't seen any dominantly red texture packs. Another piece of inspiration is the landscape of central-western United States (red dirt, stone, etc.). There is that Wild West-ish feel to it, and I hope you like it! I'll allow for downloading even though there are some things I need to finish. But just like with any other pack, I'll be releasing updates regularly and keep making sure this pack stays looking great!
I'm taking great care to ensure that the pack lives up to my standards because I am a perfectionist when it comes to some things, and this is one of them. Until then, if you would like to support this pack, send me a PM and I'll give you the forum code for the banner. I would also LOVE to hear feedback, good or bad!
You can download the pack here., by clicking the word here, or directly below this message, or even by clicking the Redland photo at the top!! :smile.gif:
Thank you,

-------------------------------------------------REQUIREMENTS AND NOTES:---------------------------------------------
When 1.6 comes out, there is a change to the dispenser UI. It's off by one pixel. I left a file next to the trap.png called trapnew.png. If you know how, please change the name of trapnew to trap, and delete the old trap.png. If not, I will change the download file and do it for you soon!
-------------------------------------------------UPDATES:--------------------------------------------- --May 25, 2011 -Version_1 RELEASED RELEASED RELEASED!!!!!!!!
The side and top grass I haven't spend any time on so for the most part they are the default. :smile.gif:
The dirt on the other hand, I can see what you mean by the obvious lines in there. I'll try to fix them.
You make a good point with the whole different shades in cobblestone / stone idea. I'll definitely take that to heart!
Thanks so much for the feedback! Lots of viewers, but no talkers, I can't tell if that's good or bad!
I'll update other blocks later, and hopefully the newer dirt and grass too!!
This looks great! My computer wouldn't be able to handle it with the grass coming off of the blocks but this is amazing! It fits the original game nicely and the blocks blend well together. You deserve every you get.
Wow, thank you to everyone that commented :smile.gif:, Made my day. Unfortunately, I've been out all day today, hiking actually, so I got alot of inspiration!
I was testing the textures today in one of my worlds, and I have to admit, I'm scared sh**tless mining deep underground. The reddish rock textures, the dark brown dirt, and the multicolored gravel give caves a very, very scary feel.
All I gotta say is, I'm loving it!!
I'm working on making the dirt and stone tile better. Also going to start working on other blocks, to keep from getting bored! :smile.gif:
For me, the wooden door looks a bit damaged and worn out, I'm not sure if that's what you were goign for, but it seems like that to me.
I just want the door to be the same hue as the wood crates. I'm still fiddling with it. And fandan, I'm glad you agree with me! I also think there should be more themed packs and I think more that have to do with very unique biomes that we have in the real world. In this case I'm going for the arizona'-ish redstone mesa feel.
I love your cobblestone pattern. It's very fresh. The tree trunks look amazing. Doors are good, so is the new glass (but maybe add just a bit of gloss?). And - apart from everything else - I'm all for a red-toned pack.
What I don't like? The furnace. I hate it. It has no depth. And it's way to simplistic and geometric for my taste. The ores look a bit too flat too, in my opinion. Same with the chests. Some shading and lighting would do you good.
All in all - I see a lot of potential in this pack, just don't be lazy with details ;-)
Regards!
I can tell you one thing, your opinion is highly appreciated, first of all. :smile.gif: I also hate my furnace, I'm planning on adding some gloss to my glass. I made the ores look slightly better, I just haven't uploaded the new pictures.
I won't leave any blocks in a half-assed manner.
:smile.gif:
Thanks again for the feedback!!!

Basically, the only requirement there is if you want to enjoy this texture pack fully, is to download the Minecraft Patcher, which will make custom lava and water visible! Here is the link: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/42962-hd-texture-fix-feb22-13-support-fixed-compass/

Any suggestions/ideas?
Yes; work on the GUI and finish grass.
I really like the work you've done here!

Thank you! I made the painting long before I even heard of minecraft, but it works well! And it's a good use for my art.

- Glass
- Wooden Door
- Red Mushroom
- Furnace
SOON TO COME:
- Cloth
- Half Stone blocks

there should be more 'themed' texturepacks, not just 'today i make dirt look slightly different'
good job
