We've got a steady stream of minecrafters searching for texture packs on Planet Minecraft. 23,000 unique visitors & 167,000 pageviews in the last 7 days. Growing each day. The texture pack section is really popular and almost every pack posted ends up featured on the homepage. It would be great to have a wider variety of packs to choose from.
It's best if you join and post but if you'd like me to do the initial work for you, simply request it in this thread. All I need is a link to your forum post. After setting up your page with image gallery, download, description, credits, link to your forum post, etc, I'll send you a special claim link that will allow you to take over full control at any time. Either way, your pack will get more exposure and you can watch its stats.
@RileyVice, Thanks for adding Pokecraft! Also, you should find the "All Time" option in a dropdown at the top of each section. It's labeled "Any Time Period", maybe I should relabel? There are other filters as well, all of which you can combine together. For example: You could look at Most Popular, Realistic, 32x32 Texture Packs of this Week.
Here's a screenshot just to be really clear :biggrin.gif:
I'm hoping to release my own pack this weekend. By release, I mean let myself release it. I keep making minor changes and I have a few more that are probably not necessary. At 16x16 it's not really a surprise that minor changes have a large impact and I'll probably continue to adjust pixels long after it's release. :biggrin.gif: It's been a lot of fun. 100% of terrain.png and gui are redone.
I haven't touched the item icons, mob skins or armor sets... I think out of those, the item icons are the most daunting. Though it should be fun to redo the weapons & tools. WHY did they make a different dye icon for each color!? Why!?, I proclaim! :biggrin.gif: I'll probably take the easy route and simply design 1 icon that has parts that can be recolored. Not going to happen for first release.
Hmm, if I decided to sign up you would need to add a 4x4 resolution >_>
(Though technically it's 16x16, it just looks like 4x4)
Good gawd, 4x4?! I was shocked by 8x8. It's technically 16x16? We need a 1x1 pack. :biggrin.gif:
Ok, now that we've just covered the multiplication table, I think since it's technically a 16x16, it should be categorized as such BUT in the title put "4x4". Is that satisfactory? I think your pack would be the only one in the 4x4 category.
Yes that's quite satisfactory. :smile.gif: I did that pack as a reaction to all the people doing 64x and up, that and to see if I could actually make a pack that was usable at that resolution. It's basically the default texture downscaled by hand (Because letting the computer do it results in a mess.)
I'm going through and uploading all 5 of my currently updated packs now.

Tis far better to be a witty fool than a foolish wit.
After I finish updating my Pastel Pak, officially complete my Argyle Style, and apply the updates I've been planning for TRON Grid, I'm setting up a website for my texture pack family.
At present, they're all featured on Minecraft Workbench, and I enjoy being on that site (about 10,000+ downloads between my four packs), but it gets on my nerves a bit because they take FOREVER to review submissions sometimes. It'd be nice to be on another good site too.
My problem with the workbench site is that I have five packs and it only seems to let you submit one at a time for 'review'. That chased me off pretty quickly.
This site seems to be pretty friendly when it comes to texture packs. I like the fact that it allows me to provide a mirror site for downloading my pack. That means I can put a link to the download from my own site and people can be sure they have the latest version even if I do forget to update the upload on planet minecraft.

Here's an example of a texture pack page on PMC: http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/arabesque-pack-beta-12-compatible/

Edit: Added 8x8 to resolution options.
Lol, I'm guessing your talking about Ashkin's "MinusCraft" banner thats in my sig?
Good to know anyhow, I'v been contemplating making a lower res pack. I just gotta figure out a theme... and finish my other pack first.

Sweet. Yeah, post two separate packs.
I'll upload mine after I get this new update I've been working one released. ^^
