@On-Topic When I first played around with this texture pack, it was brillant, I loved the smooth textures. But you call this a 1.8 update? Vines need textures, Chests need textures , Both giant mushrooms need textures, GUI needs textured, Mobs need textured. IT seems you have just taken the 1.7..3 textures and called them 1.8...
The 1.8 textures were resized and added to the pack temporarily so it's still usable while he works on his own textures. These things take time.
Run that and patch your game, that enables the use of HD texture packs.
Then open up Minecraft, log in, click "Mods and Texture Packs" then click the "Open texture pack folder" button. Drag the texture pack you downloaded (soartex 1.1.1.zip) into the folder.
I absolutely love this texture pack. I do have a couple issues with it though.
Being slightly color blind I have trouble telling the difference between redstone and iron and telling when wheat is fully grown.
A quick change making the redstone redder and the nongrown wheat much darker fixed that.
Sorry if this has been covered before, but when i used this, the dirt with grass on it has flames in the corner. How do i fix this?
This is an HD texture pack (above 16x). Meaning you absolutely need to use MCPatcher or optifine and since optifine isn't updated yet you HAVE to use Mcpatcher. Patch your game with Mcpatcher then the pack (and every other pack) will work perfect.
Soar is still finishing some 1.5-1.6 textures up. If you're looking for detail
and near-perfection in quality, you've found the right place. If you're looking
for a more complete pack, there are many other places to be.
Wild Grass is not complete, along with some other 1.7 and 1.8 textures. The
1.9 textures for Soartex probably will not be completed for a few weeks, but who knows...
Soar might find the time to pick up the pace!

If you have Optifine installed, you do not need MCPatcher. However, Optifine is not compatible with 1.8 yet.
So either you're still on 1.7.3, or you don't have OptiFine installed...
Or just use MCPatcher in order to use HD texture packs now.
just get optifine

Run MCPatcher again. Make sure you have the latest verson.

I also made the water bluer.
