"Hasucola" is photomontage of human skin and lotus seeds, and this picture and its variants are infamous in Japan as shock images.
Soar stumbled upon the video, which was a part of very popular Minecraft play video series, and he read those comments. The comments disheartened Soar greatly, and he declared cease of further development of soartex on his personal webpage. In the message, he stated that he had been frustrated by the lack of direct feedback by Japanese users and that he felt those users were talking behind his back. Additionally, he attributed these traits to Japanese nationality/ethnicity. These statements, especially the last one, set off some segments of Japanese Minecraft players, and their protest soon flooded a message board on his web site.
