I may have been hating, but honestly, if you do it in paint.net or gimp it will look a hella lot better, and get more downloads. do this, and you've got my support.

Abandoning this account....I used to spend way too much time trolling here....If you see a user around named yyujimgirl445, that's me...until then peace.
I don't want to discourage you, but I don't want to see another crappy pack, for some reason there has been a huge boom of some honestly pretty bad texture packs. I agree with HagenBraun, that Runescape has no real distinctive theme, try just making your own theme, or finding a game you like with something more withstanding, if you are going to base it on a game. As I said before I don't want to discourage you from making a texture pack, but I want it to be good. And for God's sake, do not use MSPaint, as it does not support transparency, and would be retarded looking. use Photoshop, or GIMP, or this paint.net I keep hearing about. Good luck.

Hm... It looks like our chances of finding it... *sunglasses* Just went up a Notch.
****scape dosent even HAVE any textures, just random colors over a poorly rendered 3D world, dont get me wrong, its not a horrible game but this is s horrible concept, using one of those single-color texture packs will give you the exact same effect.
Well, FINE!!!! If that's what everyone's being so Angry about.
Do it and I'll give it a chance.
See, since the invention of the internet - People who typically have social problems finally have a chance to post messages under false visions of themselves. This gives them both the courage and the mistaken belief that their opinion has changed in value, simply because the way they look is masked.
This causes a lot of this type of reaction. Someone picks the thread, and they scan it for any word they can use to argue against the poster and break off on a tangent. These same people utilize caution in real life - and would actually alter the information coming out of them. In many cases, the users simply do not have the courage to try to do anything themselves - or they have a mistaken belief that originality exists with something as simple as 'texturing' and 'skinning'.
Believe me, if originality was important to them, they wouldn't be playing a game with a million downloads. In fact, a truly original person would only play games hand crafted by themselves. Anyone who wants to play their game would need to develop their own client to connect, so it can be unique. Although the sharing of a static port would be arguable.
Anyway, my point is - its an effort in futility. They complain about Runescape because they want to feel bigger and more important than they really are. When you are at the bottom of the social ladder, avidly yelling about RPG's that are 'beneath' you becomes your only chance to convince yourself you have an advantge over someone.

Build it, I'll use it! And remember, there is a reason someone logs into a Forum, opens a forum thread and posts multiple times. It always comes down to attention and a need for improving self confidence.

Argh. Don't you just hate it when IE closes on you and trashes your post? Well, here we go again.
Let's take a moment to elaborate on why the haters are hating, and why the trollers are trolling, and everyone's begging you to halt progress on the pack. We'll start by browsing a few pictures of none other than Runescape. That classic game we knew and, for some of us, loved. Let's begin, shall we?
This version of the game, although particularly old, is likely what pops into our heads when someone says, "Runescape". (Or at least that's what I think of, having played it, as my first MMOG, some four-or-so years back.) Compared to the classic, oldest version of the game, the colors are more dull and muted, and there's considerable detail throughout the whole scene. But look again. Notice how everything's just a flat color? Sure, perhaps the trees, or the occasional paving stone or polygonal blade of grass can be accounted for, but otherwise, nothing.
...Unless you mean the newest version of the game, which came along from what I remember was both an excellent leap in graphics and a slightly traumatic event. Of course, the trauma wore off quickly. As you can see, everything here has much more variation in texture. Flat colors be-gone. If this is what you mean, I take back every negative comment I might have made without knowing. I can see this working out much more.

i play runescape and i know how great it looks now and how bland it DID look wich is why i think a texturepack based off the new looks would work quite well.
you two gentlemen just changed my mind about the pack, i could use a darker, slightly gloomier texture pack..
