When you suggest someone makes a texture pack, you're asking someone to put a lot of work in to something for you with absolutely nothing in return. Consider the amount of work that's required to make a decent and complete texture pack, or even just terrain.png. Now consider that, perhaps, to put that much work in to a texture pack, an artist would want to be at least a little bit inspired by something. This "something" is absolutely, positively not your vague description of what you want.
Here are some guidelines to maybe possibly perhaps perchance think about before posting a texture pack demand request...
- When you think of an idea for a texture pack, please think thoroughly about it...
- Has it been done before, or has anything similar been done? To find out, you can use the search feature.
- Note that some "themes" (namely shows and the like) won't offer much difference from the default texture pack, as everything in those shows is pretty generic. Trees are trees, planks are planks, brick is brick. Booooring!
- Is this theme something that only you are going to like? If so, don't bother. No one is going to make a custom texture pack for you and only you.
- SUGGEST SOMETHING MORE. Every time I see a texture pack request, its far too vague. When you come up with an idea, think about what you would like cobblestone, or smooth stone, or lapis to be. Think about what sheep and zombies and pigmen would be. Give some ideas more than "hey guys, i think ______ is really cool. you should make a texture pack about it." Give us some pictures and some structure to build upon. We can't read your mind. We don't know what you want if you don't tell us.
- Just don't! If an artist wants to make an Inuyasha pack, or a Popeye pack, or a Crocodile Hunter pack, they'll do it! You asking them is not going to make it happen. Texture pack creation is a lot of work, and most artists simply don't do requests. But please, if you absolutely must have your Ponyo pack, give us a meaty 12oz steak of a suggestion. Something we can really sink our teeth into and understand. The foundation for the texture pack. Not some half-half-half assed request that took you all of sixteen seconds to type up.
