Hey guys i've seen alot of texture packs lately so i decided to make my own. I call this one Excraft - X because it has X's on the blocks lol. At first i was playing around with some stuff and then made a texture pack. Once i went ingame the torches were black. So i had to ask some questions for answers on how to fix this problem. And a guy named montecarlo84. Yes a weird name. Well back to the point here enough stories.

Default texture pack + remove alpha on most layers + add annoying X-square thing = this horribly thought out texture pack. I'm sorry, but please don't bother releasing stuff like this. Prepare for ass ripping.

It is actually worse then nothing. It's like a worse version of the default pack with gray-coloured lines blocking your view of everything.
I've said this to people before, but when making a texture pack, unless you have the skills to really improve upon the existing art, you should be looking for a strong theme. And if the theme you come up with is something like "let's just make everything blue", or "let's just make everything more saturated", or, in your case, "let's just put an X on every block", you should keep thinking.
It also pays to put some work into your pack, not just when making the textures, but also when doing research and looking for references. If your ideas are bad even good art skills can not save them. And if those are bad, too, you really are in a lot of trouble.
I advise you to try again with a more ambitious theme, and quit acting like a child when someone calls your zero effort textures bad.

Just as well, constructive criticism is excellent, but to tell someone to not even try?
I never said "to not even try" I was simply clearing up an error I thought would be pivotal in further conversation on this subject. I actually think this would be a rather good idea if it had custom textures backing it.
