Same here, I'm sure you can find the texture png file somewhere in the minecraft folder and simply edit it, but is that all there is to it?

for the most part yes, it is just that easy as copying the .png files in the default minecraft.jar and putting them in a folder, then editing them. however what im having a problem with is when i try to load my texture pack into the .minecraft/texturepack folder it wont recognize that theres a texture pack there. ive tried using a regular folder, a compressed .zip file and an uncompressed .zip..any ideas?
But where do you find the .png files? I can't find it...
