Well, I have been having some problems playing MC online lately, and decided to have a crack at making my own texture pack to play with because I am just on a laptop and it's great to see all these highly detailed HD texture packs, but unfortunately it just slows down my game way too much to actually use them.
That's when I decided.. why not go the exact opposite direction and try to go as basic as possible and the result is what is below. Now, there's no actual download file for this texture pack yet, as most of it is not complete (I just recently started on it.) but I wanted to post it here because I had a few questions and I figured I would show it off and if enough people like it, I may put it up for download, but again... this is my first texture pack so it's nothing special.. and if you're looking for HD this is definitely not the place.
Now on to the actual texture pack...
Main Menu
Sun & Moon
Some random scenery..
Oh yeah... the health bar has been changed also..
Some buildings and such... really not too visually appealing, but again it's for people on laptops/slower computers that need to play with the fog set to short and tiny, or possibly for making building easier.
As you can see with the glass in the last pics and the crafting table/furnace.. This is highly based off of the default texture pack. Rather than do everything from scratch, I've just been drawing over the older blocks making them very similar, just more simple with only 2 to 3 colours per block.
Some blocks... The iron needs to be redone to be made more visible.
Anyways, there it is and let me know what you think.
Now, onto my question, which I guess I should have asked way earlier because some people might not make it this far into the thread but oh well, haha...
I have edited the water in terrain.png but that has not changed it in-game and after searching some stuff up, it seems like a different process needs to be done in order to change the water so I was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction of a tutorial or try and quickly explain it in here.
For a simple pack.. this is very basic.. you could make the blocks have a more smooth edge so it its more like an area not a lot of squares
Lol, the thread says (Very basic and simple), so that's kind of what I was going for with this. Also, this is only a couple hours of work and most of the blocks haven't been done yet and I was just testing stuff out.
The main point of this thread was to ask how to change the water in-game but I kind of got carried away with the pictures and didn't ask the question until the very end, haha. Thanks for the reply though! :biggrin.gif:
