Could anyone point me in the direction of an updated tutorial on texture packs?

I would enjoy making my own so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

For clarification I want to completely redo every texture up to date, what would I need?

This might be of help to you but it's not really that in-depth, just a smattering of quick examples for you to see and then let your creativity run wild. The more you play with it, the more you'll get it.
