I didn't see this anywhere so let me be the first to post this.
Now the title may seem like it, but i'm not a texture maker. Yet. This is here so that people may request texture packs and the ones who know the dark secrets of the textures may make them for us. I also wish to use this experience to increase my and the population's knowledge about texture packs and how to make them.
So let me be the first to request something. I was thinking, Minecraft is basically a lego world from the perspective of a minifigure, right? So why not make it more like that? I was thinking, lego texture pack! Like some of the tops of blocks could have those lego stud things and where available, the snapping...holes...or whatever. I mean, it would be hard for certain blocks with only one texture for all sides of the blocks, but some it would work because there are multiple textures. And for mobs, the human could be a lego minifigure, cows could be like...yellow...or something... chickens could be chickens, really, everything could stay the same, but with lego studs all over them.
If this could be done, thanks!
tl;dr If you want a custom texture pack, post it here.
I like your idea though. I've been trying like heck to find a decent texture pack that is bright. It seems like every pack that I like the textures for is darker (in brightness) than the default textures.
Anyone know of any brighter texture packs?

Well I'm going to be releasing one in a few days based of the upcomeing game "FEZ". That pack will be fairly bright
Ok, definitely not the path i was hoping this thread would take. 100 views and only 2 posts? seriously, you lurkers are pitiful. The point of this thread was to post idea = get texture. If you read the op, I also wanted to increase the population's (and my) knowledge of texture packs, because frankly, my photoshop won't cooperate enough to allow me to make my own, otherwise I would. Ever wanted your own texture pack to your own specifications (if I hear Painterly pack i'm going to hurt someone)? This is where you ask for it. It's like a skin request, but it's bigger than that. So let me ask for another one. I'm in the process of making a Legends of Zelda remake in minecraft, so i could use a texture pack please. I have certain requests for each block, so i'll post that in a sec.
= = = dispenser = =
EDIT 1 (because you and I know I'll have more): = sandstone
Edit 2: = Wooden Doors. Yes, I want my doors as black squares. = = = :mossystone:? I mean, i want to use it for the tops of dungeons, so if mossy cobble could be like that, that'd be nice. = = (sand if you can't tell)
Edit 3: = Snow = Snowy Grass
Edit 4: = = = Gold Apple = Lever = Sword = Sword = Bow. Duh. = / = Sword

I'll give it a go in a few days if no one else does.
I think it's a good idea to keep texture requests all in one thread, makes it much easier to look at them and it avoids flooding the forum.
However, before making a request, take some time to consider the enormous workload you're asking a complete stranger to take on for you.
I started working on my own texture pack this week and found that it takes me at least an hour to finish a single tile, in some cases two or even three hours. Now, there are 134 tiles to do in the current terrain.png (the tiles that are actually being used in the game, anyway), so you can understand just how many hours go into it.
Timelines may vary because not every texture pack has the same amount of detail, but still. It's a very big project no matter how you twist or turn it.
You mentioned you already have Photoshop, so I would recommend that you just start messing with it. There are no dark secrets to making texture packs, only practice. Also, load up other texture packs in Photoshop, zoom in and really study how people arranged their colors to get certain effects. Then, try to emulate the effect yourself.
I hope this helps, and I hope more people will be inspired to try and make a texture pack for themselves, rather than asking someone else to do it.

Thanks, that was the main idea.

I'm quite aware. I recently tried to make my own. It didn't end up working, but it took a unbearable time to make, so I understand fully.

Yeah, I've tried, but every time I try to use some tool, it just tried to create some blur effect, creating four squares of random opacities where I click, and I most certainly don't want them. That's another reason that I made this thread, so that people without this problem can help me out here

Can you make a texture pack for me with instruments as blocks?
and the jukebox with notelines and stuff.
and mobs look like Mozart or anything.
Thanks, that was the main idea.
