Me and my friend are making texture packs, not professionally, but we have actually made some by ourselves. My friend makes HD texture packs with 64 or 32 pixels and I continue the old 16 style graphics. My guess is that it is better to make a perfect 16 pixel texture pack than thousands of bad, but 64 or 32 pixel style texture pack. I just want to know your opinion on this topic.

Haters gonna hate, Hades gonna hade, But creepers gonna creep.
I prefer 16x16 because not only is it what Minecraft supports by itself, but it's just easier for everyone involved. No figuring out how a patcher works for the downloader. No figuring out how to explain how a patcher works for me. Just drop the zip straight into your texture folder.
Granted, it's takes extra work to get the textures to look good considering you only have a small space, but that extra time can really make the difference. I've seen some really good 16x16 packs. On the other hand, I've seen some really horrible ones too. I'll bet my stack of diamonds the difference between the two is almost always time spent on them.
