its still there, but its all grayish. its gray because of the biomes. notch made them neutral, then, depending on the biome you're in, a color is added to the gray template of the grass. its the same for the leaves. so the grass is the first one (top left). the leaves are on the ninth row, fifth and sixth collum.
Where is the grass texture? It's not in the terain.png. It used to be, before the late alphas and beta.

It's in the top left corner. I think the default MC grass is now set to a grayscale for proper use of biomes.
