Dystopiacraft, a shadow falls over Minecraft. A dark cloud has fallen over the world. Wicked beasts roam the land, natural hazards are prevalent, and one's safety is never a sure thing. Civilisation has splintered, now, one would be lucky to run into another being in their travels. Where there is culture, it is overseen by an all loving benevolent government, concerned for the public's safety from their un-named enemies...
Dystopiacraft is an attempt to prouce a darker, more bleak version of Minecraft. It is aimed at those seeking either near-apocalyptic worlds, or those who wish to emulate the drab and depressing enviroments of dystopian fantasy and science fiction, ala Burgess, Vonnegut, Ballard et al. It is also suitable for those who simply wish for a more dull environment, who find the default textures too bright for reality.
Please note that this pack is currently in pre-release, and as such many of the textures are not even near the final edit. However, all textures, save yellow flowers, mushrooms, and mining cracks, are original, with the placeholder textures being drawn from my past design studies. Basically though, don't get too used to some of the textures that are out of place, as they will be edited as time goes on.
Change log:
Ummm... stuff?
Okay then, several textures are updated, clay and bricks are now more grungy, sugar cane is less saturated.
Coal is now more visible, before it looked a bit ambiguous
Furnaces are temporarily darkened in place of replacing the texture.
A few things I have probably forgot.
Please note that this texture pack is 32x32, and as such requires Xau's Patcher to run properly. You can find Xau's Patcher here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=46173
Also note that it is encouraged to use this pack with the 'Better Light' mod by Mr Messiah, found here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=55700
Expect updates to come over time, as most of this pack is still not completed. However, I felt it might be good to distribute an early version of this pack, in the intention to gauge interest.
Thanks for the compliment... Be warned, while all of the textures are original, I am still dissatisfied with most of them. All of the interactive items (doors, cake, chests, furnaces, dispensers and so on) are not like they will be in final release. Gravel looks horrid in my opinion. Jack O Lanterns and Pumpkins are not how they will end up (currently just hollow logs until I get inspiration or an idea from a user). Nether materials need further refining, as do Logs. But I felt that since all textures save the ones mentioned in OP are original content, I may as well release to get some feedback. So feel free to test, and post constructive criticism via the thread or PM.
Change log:
Fixed misc to actually work (should get biome colours now)
Added some makeshift gui to menus
new dark clouds hang over the world
Gravel and Adminium have swapped, gravel now looks similar to smooth from a distance
Some posters added to the paintings folder
Some items temporarily have new sprites
And when you come back you will be shaking your fists about getting a bad deal... :tongue.gif:
Hope you like the stuff that is (mostly done), and hope the horrid WIP stuff doesn't put you off! Feel free to provide feedback via PM or a post here, and feel free to contribute ideas and advice! I do want this pack to reflect the interests of those into the pack, so feedback is welcome!

Remember folks, if you like this pck, feedback is appreciated. I would like some ideas on where to take this.
